STO - On July 7, the Soc Trang Provincial Blind Association held the 5th Executive Committee Meeting, term IV, to review the activities of the first 6 months of the year and set out tasks for the last 6 months of 2023 of the association; at the same time, summarize a number of association work programs in the recent period. Attending the conference were comrade Tu To Quyen - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Soc Trang province; representatives of leaders of a number of departments and branches of the province.
In the first 6 months of 2023, the Executive Committee of the Soc Trang Provincial Association of the Blind focused on developing members and perfecting the association's organization. Paying attention to labor, production, life and employment for members. Thereby, considering lending 100 million VND from the National Employment Fund to 6 member households from the recovered capital; granting interest-free loans (second round) sponsored by the Can Tho Small Support Fund, 36 million VND to 6 member households to develop family economy; opening more massage rooms for the Vinh Chau Town Association of the Blind... In addition, the association opened a pentatonic music class for 8 members under the Project "Preserving and developing pentatonic music in the lives of blind Khmer people in Soc Trang province"; visiting and giving gifts to blind children, children of officials and members working at the Association of the Blind on the occasion of the Month of Action for Children 2023...
Comrade Tu To Quyen - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Soc Trang province and Mr. Hoang Xuan Luyen - Chairman of the Provincial Association of the Blind awarded certificates of merit from the Vietnam Association of the Blind to collectives and individuals with good achievements in implementing the Action Program for employment and sustainable poverty reduction.
At the conference, the association's leaders also approved reports such as: summarizing 15 years (2007 - 2022) of the movement to strengthen solidarity and proactively strive for equality and integration into the community; summarizing 15 years of the Action Program for Sustainable Employment and Poverty Reduction; summarizing 15 years (1998 - 2022) of work for blind women and children. Thereby affirming the role and tasks of the association in caring for and helping the blind, increasing the trust of the blind and enhancing the prestige of the association. Through the programs of activities, creating jobs for the blind and their families contributes to hunger eradication and poverty reduction, increasing income and stabilizing life, reducing the burden on families and society.
On this occasion, 1 group and 2 individuals received certificates of merit from the Vietnam Association of the Blind; the Provincial Association of the Blind awarded 17 certificates of merit to individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing the Action Program on employment, sustainable poverty reduction and women and children work.
