In the period of 2020 - 2025, community tourism and ecotourism in Hue have had many positive changes and received attention and support from the Central Government, Hue City People's Committee and development partners. The mountainous communes of A Luoi 1,2,3,4,5 and Nam Dong, Long Quang, Khe Tre are identified as centers of community tourism, ecotourism typical of mountainous areas with strengths of natural landscapes, ethnic minority culture, and intangible cultural values.
Besides the positive aspects, ecotourism and local communities still face difficulties, in which investment resources for tourism are still modest, not enough to create a breakthrough and still need to build a long-term, more sustainable development strategy. The quality of tourism services is uneven, there is a lack of human resources trained in service skills, communication and foreign languages. Tourism products are not really attractive, still lacking in cultural characteristics and depth...

At the conference, representatives of the Department of Tourism and delegates proposed the need for comprehensive solutions on policy mechanisms, tourism infrastructure development, product development, human resource development and promotion and advertising. In particular, priority should be given to calling for investment in areas with outstanding potential, waterfalls, ecological sites, traditional cultural villages, etc. to form unique experience points.
Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh emphasized that in recent years, Hue City, localities and the tourism industry have paid attention to and implemented policies to develop ecotourism and community tourism. However, in order for ecotourism and community tourism models to develop more sustainably, it requires the joint efforts of relevant parties and the role of travel agencies and tourism service businesses. All must demonstrate strong determination, not only meeting and researching but also starting to develop specific and suitable products to soon put into practical operation. Tourism products must promote local identity, bring benefits to people and businesses, promote local socio -economic development and ensure environmental protection.
