Promoting ASEAN member countries' culture to youth and students

In the series of activities of the Southeast Asian Cultural Festival 2023, on the evening of September 24, in Ho Chi Minh City, Ho Chi Minh City Open University coordinated with the Vietnam - Southeast Asia Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City to organize the Final round of the 2023 Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Cultural Ambassador Contest.

The 40 best contestants from 18 universities and colleges competed in the final night. The contestants took turns performing in gowns designed according to the themes of ASEAN countries, performing in cultural costumes of ASEAN countries, performing in ao dai, evening gowns - vestons, presenting about ASEAN and the behavioral round.

In the final results, student Thai Thi Phuong Uyen, Ton Duc Thang University became Miss ASEAN Cultural Ambassador 2023; student Nguyen Le Duy Bao, Ho Chi Minh City Open University became Mr. ASEAN Cultural Ambassador 2023. After the contest, ASEAN Cultural Ambassadors will participate in promoting culture through performances, seminars, and initiatives for the ASEAN community...

The organizers also awarded the titles: Media Ambassador through audience voting results, Talent Ambassador for contestants with impressive performances, Cultural Costume Ambassador, Ao Dai Ambassador, Eloquence Ambassador...

The contest was held from August 20 to September 24, attracting more than 200 contestants from 57 universities and colleges in the city. Thereby, it contributed to creating an environment for exchange and promotion of ASEAN countries' culture to students; at the same time, it sought out students with full knowledge of ASEAN and the ability to perform to promote the culture of ASEAN member countries to the city's youth and students.
