The People's Committee of Nghia Lo ward has put up warning signs and deployed forces to set up checkpoints prohibiting people and vehicles from crossing Tra Khuc 1 bridge.
According to Tran Dinh Truong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghia Lo Ward, the Tra Khuc 1 bridge, built over 60 years ago, has deteriorated. During the rainy season and floods, when the Tra Khuc River water level exceeds alarm level 3, the local authorities will prohibit people and vehicles from crossing the bridge to ensure safety.
The closure of Tra Khuc 1 bridge will be in effect from 9:30 AM today until the floodwaters on the Tra Khuc River recede.
According to the Quang Ngai Provincial Meteorological and Hydrological Station, in the next 6-12 hours, the flood level on the Tra Khuc River will continue to rise, potentially exceeding alarm level 3 by 1.7-2 meters.
The Ve River at the Ve River station will reach alarm level 3, while the Tra Bong River at the Chau O station will exceed alarm level 3 by 0.3 - 0.8 m.
Over the next 12-24 hours, flood levels on the Tra Khuc, Tra Bong, and Ve rivers will continue to fluctuate at high levels.
Flooding poses a risk of damaging bridges, culverts, and drainage systems, significantly impacting aquaculture ponds, the environment, people's lives, and socio- economic activities.
Due to prolonged heavy rain, rising floodwaters have inundated many residential areas, markets, and schools in riverside localities of Quang Ngai province such as Tinh Giang, Nghia Hanh, Phuoc Giang, etc.
Currently, the floodwater level on the Tra Bong River section passing through Chau O station (Binh Son commune) is 3.74 m, 0.24 m above alarm level 2. The floodwaters have exceeded the level of the 1999 flood.

The flood water level on the Tra Khuc River, passing through the center of Quang Ngai province, in Nghia Lo and Truong Quang Trong wards, is 6.59 m, 0.09 m above alarm level 3.
