Quang Ngai: Heavy rain causes landslides, breaks half of inter-commune road lane

QNgTV- Heavy rain during the night and on December 4 caused severe landslides and traffic disruption in a mountainous commune in Quang Ngai.

On December 4, the leader of the People's Committee of Son Thuy commune, Quang Ngai province confirmed: Road DH72 from Son Ha commune to Son Thuy connecting to National Highway 24B through the commune experienced landslides and broken roadbeds, causing traffic disruption.

The roadbed section was broken due to a landslide that occurred in the Deo Re area. Here, a large amount of soil and rock spilled onto the road surface, obstructing traffic and posing a potential safety risk to people and vehicles passing by. The cement concrete road surface in the section was broken and collapsed by half, creating a deep hole that was dangerous for people and vehicles passing by. Many pieces of broken concrete lay scattered below the deep abyss.

To ensure safety for people regularly traveling on the route, Son Thuy commune authorities have inspected, placed warning signs, and coordinated with relevant units to handle and fix the problem.

The heavy rains and floods on the night of December 3 and 4 caused many landslides on roads in the mountainous areas of Quang Ngai. The province has directed localities to focus on overcoming the situation.
