Quang Ngai: ThatXo Mountain Landslide, More Than 100 People Evacuated to Safety

On the morning of November 2, Mr. Truong Cong Lam, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tay Tra commune, Quang Ngai province, said that the ThatXo landslide had severely damaged the former Tay Tra district Political Training Center. The locality had urgently evacuated 27 households in the danger zone.

At about 1 a.m. on October 31, ThatXo mountain suddenly collapsed. On November 1, the landslide continued with a serious level, about 900m³ of soil and rock continued to collapse, burying the office of the old Tay Tra district Political Training Center, and completely collapsing a house, directly affecting households living in the high-risk area.

Immediately after the incident, the People's Committee of Tay Tra commune urgently evacuated 27 households with more than 100 people out of the dangerous area, at the same time stretched ropes, put up warning signs and strictly prohibited people from approaching the landslide area to ensure the safety of life and property.

Households are temporarily housed at Tra Nga village Cultural House and Tay Tra district Cultural Center (old), and the locality supports essential food and provisions during this time.
