This event is part of the groundbreaking and inauguration activities for construction projects and other projects celebrating the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Quang Tri province.
Attending the ceremony were the Deputy Minister of National Defence , Lieutenant General Nguyen Hong Thai; the Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee, Le Ngoc Quang; the Standing Vice Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee, Hoang Nam; and representatives from various departments and agencies in the province.
The Hai Anh Wind Power Plant project received investment approval from the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee on March 22, 2021, and commenced construction on December 20, 2023. The project has a capacity of 40 MW with 8 turbine towers of 5 MW each, and a total investment of VND 1,500 billion. The investor is Hai Anh Wind Power Joint Stock Company - Quang Tri. This is a Group B, Level II energy project.

Mr. Quan Duy Hai, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hai Anh Wind Power Joint Stock Company - Quang Tri, said that during the implementation process, despite facing many difficulties due to harsh weather conditions, the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, and supply chain disruptions, with the determination and creativity of the investor and the support of Quang Tri province, the project was completed on schedule, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency. In addition, during construction, the project also invested in and upgraded nearly 10 km of roads, facilitating transportation for the people, expanding trade, and improving infrastructure in the project area.
Once operational, the plant will supply approximately 118 million kWh/year to the national power grid, contributing to reducing electricity shortages and ensuring energy resources for socio-economic development in Quang Tri and the surrounding areas. The project is also expected to generate over 200 billion VND in revenue annually, contributing approximately 20 billion VND/year to the local budget. It will contribute to national energy security, create new jobs and livelihoods for local people, and become a new highlight on Vietnam's renewable energy map.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam shared: "From this important milestone, we hope that Hai Anh - Quang Tri Wind Power Joint Stock Company will continue to apply modern technology, strictly comply with regulations on environment and labor safety, and work closely with the local people; maximize the efficiency of the plant, make positive contributions to economic growth and affirm its brand in the national energy market."
