Quang Tri approves investment policy for 2 wind power projects worth over 133 million USD

On October 28, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province announced that it had issued a decision approving the investment policy of two new wind power projects, including Tan Hop 1 Wind Power Plant and Phong Lieu Wind Power Plant Expansion, with a total investment capital of more than VND3,498 billion (equivalent to about USD133.8 million).

The Tan Hop 1 Wind Power Plant Project, proposed by Thanh An Wind Power Joint Stock Company, has a total investment capital of more than VND 2,098 billion, a designed capacity of 50 MW, including 8 wind turbines (each turbine 6.25 MW). The project is implemented in Khe Sanh commune, Huong Hoa district, on a land use area of ​​about 12.99 hectares, with 9.15 hectares temporarily occupied during the construction process.

The main items include the turbine installation area, 35/110 kV booster station, connection line system, traffic roads and operation management building. The expected implementation time is 21 months from the completion of investor selection.

Meanwhile, the Phong Lieu Wind Power Plant expansion, invested by Phong Lieu Wind Power Joint Stock Company, has a total capital of VND1,400 billion, a capacity of 35 MW with 7 wind turbines (each turbine is about 5 MW). The project is implemented in Khe Sanh, Lao Bao and Huong Phung communes (Huong Hoa district), using 12.25 hectares of land with a term and 10.4 hectares of temporary land during construction. The project will connect to the 220kV Huong Tan transformer station via a 35kV line, with an implementation schedule of about 32 months and an operating period of 50 years.

Both projects are in the group of industries with special investment incentives, and are implemented in areas with particularly difficult socio -economic conditions, thus enjoying many preferential policies and investment support according to State regulations.

The People's Committee of Quang Tri province assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to preside over the organization of bidding and selection of investors; coordinate with the Department of Finance, Department of Agriculture and Environment, Department of Construction and relevant localities in the area to guide, supervise and ensure the project is implemented on schedule and in accordance with legal regulations.

The approval of two wind power projects with a total capacity of 85 MW continues to affirm Quang Tri province's determination in developing renewable energy, aiming to become a green energy center of the Central region, contributing to the effective implementation of the 8th Power Plan and the local green and sustainable economic development strategy.
