On November 16, in Tien Dien commune ( Ha Tinh ), the Nguyen Tien Dien clan council held a book launch ceremony of The Tale of Kieu (Tien Dien version) to scientists and readers.

This is a limited edition publication commemorating the 260th birth anniversary and 205th death anniversary of the World Cultural Celebrity - Great Poet Nguyen Du; the 225th anniversary of the birth of The Tale of Kieu and the 150th anniversary of The Tale of Kieu being transcribed into the national language.

The Tien Dien version of the Tale of Kieu is a Tale of Kieu published by the Nguyen Tien Dien Family Council, together with a group of editors who are Kieu scholars who love Nguyen Du and the Tale of Kieu. They have worked scientifically and seriously, selectively inheriting the quintessence of researchers over the past 200 years, based on the existing Nom and Quoc Ngu versions of the Tale of Kieu to compile a current Tale of Kieu that is closest to Nguyen Du, serving the needs of readers and researchers.

Mr. Nguyen Hai Nam - Chairman of the Nguyen Tien Dien Family Council - said that The Tale of Kieu has a strange vitality because it was passed down orally and handwritten. With this way of folk transmission, many different versions were created, with many different verses, different words and different understandings before it was printed in Nom script in 1866.

Up to now, since the first Nom and Quoc Ngu version of Kieu was printed and popularized, Truyen Kieu has always received the attention and research of scholars and Kieu scholars for editing, compiling, publishing... bringing great achievements to the preservation and promotion of the value of the eternal heritage of Truyen Kieu .

Before the movement of studying the Tale of Kieu , and studying the Tale of Kieu, which was developing strongly in Nguyen Du's homeland and being launched and developed nationwide, the Nguyen Tien Dien family followed the footsteps of previous generations, organizing the revision and compilation of a version of the Tale of Kieu called the Tien Dien version, aiming for a current text.

The first purpose is to circulate and disseminate to descendants and then to all general readers.

The compilers have selected the best of the published versions of Kieu, while trying to eliminate inappropriate edits or additions by the compilers, while at the same time recognizing contributions and creations that have become popular.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Luan - Chairman of the Vietnam Kieu Studies Association - said that the Tien Dien version of the Tale of Kieu was published with the spirit of inheriting and collecting the quintessence, creations, and great contributions of scholars, researchers, editors, and compilers of the Tale of Kieu in Nom and Quoc Ngu over the past 160 years since the Tale of Kieu was published in 1866 (the earliest Nom version of the Tale of Kieu found).

This special version of Kieu by Nguyen Tien Dien is divided and annotated very scientifically and easily understood, and the book is illustrated with pictures by famous artists.

The book is printed in 1,000 copies, published by the Writers Association Publishing House.
