TPO - Inspecting the Long Thanh airport project, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized: “We consider this a symbolic project. On the afternoon of September 24th, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh inspected the progress of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway Project and the Long Thanh International Airport Project in Dong Nai province, which is one of the important trade centers.
Reporting to the Prime Minister, Mr. Le Anh Tuan, Deputy Minister of Transport , stated that the progress of the component projects of the Long Thanh International Airport Project is currently being closely monitored by the contractors, ensuring that the project is completed on schedule as committed to the Government.

To ensure the integrated and synchronized operation of the entire Long Thanh International Airport Project Phase 1, ACV requests that ministries and agencies accelerate the implementation progress of Component Project 4. Priority should be given to projects directly related to the operation of Long Thanh International Airport, such as the cargo terminal No. 2, the express cargo terminal, the cargo handling warehouse No. 1, the aircraft catering area, the ground service vehicle maintenance area, and the aircraft maintenance and cleaning area.
According to ACV, Long Thanh International Airport, upon completion, will handle 80% of international passengers traveling to and from Ho Chi Minh City. Therefore, expanding the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh expressway is a crucial factor in ensuring the efficient operation of Long Thanh International Airport. ACV recommends that the Government pay attention to and direct the acceleration of the project to expand the expressway connecting Long Thanh International Airport with Ho Chi Minh City to ensure the project's effectiveness upon commissioning.
ACV also proposed the construction of runway number 2 and the leveling of terminal T3 to minimize environmental pollution when the airport becomes operational.

Regarding the Long Thanh International Airport project, the Prime Minister stated: “We consider this a symbolic project. I propose that the project be substantially completed by December 31, 2025, to celebrate the country's major holidays. We have experience; we have shortened the construction time for many projects, and we are growing and maturing step by step.”
The Prime Minister requested that on construction sites, overtime work and shifts must be increased, and schedules adjusted, demanding high determination, focused and targeted work, scientific planning, clear assignment of responsibilities, timeframes, and tasks with a decisive spirit; foreign contracts must be reviewed, construction quality controlled; safety and environmental hygiene must be ensured; and attention must be paid to the workers' well-being, both material and spiritual. Ministries and agencies must accelerate progress and conduct parallel audits to avoid errors.
Government leaders also approved the immediate implementation of the plan to build runway number 2 and requested the Ministry of Transport to submit the appraisal dossier, and the Government Office to register it as an addition to the National Assembly's work program.
