After many years of organization, the contest has attracted the attention and participation of many students of all ages. Schools send teachers to support students in making models and products with creative ideas and practical meaning to participate in the contest.
In 2025, the 7th Provincial Youth and Children's Creativity Contest was held, attracting 70 qualified applications from 50 participating schools. The products focused mainly on 4 areas: Environmentally friendly products; household appliances and children's toys; technical solutions to respond to climate change, environmental protection and economic development; school supplies.
Ms. Pham Thi Ha, President of the Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee, said: Through the judging results, we assess the quality of the models and products participating in this year's competition as being more carefully invested and of higher quality; research topics and themes are increasingly more diverse, many products are creative, highly effective and have practical meaning, easy to apply in life.

The Organizing Committee of the Contest has selected 29 models and products to win the 7th Son La Provincial Youth and Children's Creativity Contest in 2025, including: 5 first prizes, 5 second prizes, 5 third prizes and 14 consolation prizes. In addition, the dynamic model "Mountain Life" won the third prize and the Stem model "Chi ke be nghe" won the consolation prize in the 21st National Youth and Children's Creativity Contest in 2025. This is the motivation for teachers and students of schools to continue researching and creating useful products suitable for local conditions.
The Stem model "Sister tells the children" is one of the products made by the students: Phan Dac Vinh, Tay Tien Primary and Secondary School; Pham Mai Anh, 14/6 Primary and Secondary School and Bui Thao Linh, Moc Ly Primary School. The model won the consolation prize in the National Competition and the first prize in the Provincial Competition in 2025. Phan Dac Vinh, Tay Tien Primary and Secondary School, said: The model was built by us based on the idea of recreating the familiar space where the older sister tells her about fairy tales, folk tales or moral lessons. The model combines STEM elements, using natural, environmentally friendly materials such as tree bark, wood, etc. From the design idea, we also calculated the structure, durability, and balance of the size of the characters and details to create a space with a vivid and reasonable context according to the theme, meaningful and conveying the message of environmental protection.
Pham Trung An and Nguyen Phuong Anh, Tong Lenh High School (currently students at the University of Transport Technology) won second prize at the provincial level, with the product "Research on creating an antibacterial product against Helicobacter Pylori in the stomach from the ditch plant". An said: Realizing that many people suffer from stomach ulcers caused by Helicobacter Pylori bacteria, we searched for a medicinal herb available locally to create an antibacterial product. The ditch plant is a plant with enough components that can fight bacteria, we have conducted research, extracted it into an extract, tested the product in the laboratory and plan to test it on animals (white mice). Under the guidance and support of teachers, we have been recognized by the Institute of Chemistry of Natural Compounds (Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology) for our survey results that ditch plant extract has the ability to inhibit bacteria and is not cytotoxic at appropriate concentrations.

As one of the typical school units in creativity and scientific research, this year, Moc Ly Secondary School continues to have 7 products winning prizes at the provincial competition. Teacher Dang Thi Hue, Team Leader, Moc Ly Secondary School, said: For many years, the school has always actively encouraged students to participate in the competition and launched the implementation of creative models and ideas to all grades; guiding students to choose products in many areas of social life, especially national cultural identity and learning support equipment. This is a useful playground, creating opportunities for students to learn, explore and promote their creativity.
Through 7 times of organization, the Son La Provincial Youth and Children's Creativity Contest has been strongly spreading the research and creativity movement of youth and children, contributing to the formation of a dynamic young generation with rich creative capacity, building a solid foundation for nurturing potential scientists in the future.
