The "Deepening the Special Friendship Between Vietnam and China" festival is about to take place.

On the afternoon of November 6th, a press conference was held for the "Vietnam-Laos Special Friendship Festival 2023". The press conference was chaired by Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Lam, spokesperson for the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC). Co-chairing the program were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh - Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province and Mr. O Lam Chawnthavilay - Second Secretary in charge of press information, Lao Embassy in Vietnam.

With the desire to promote the image of a modern and developing Vietnam, thereby strengthening the traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, the Ministry of Information and Communications, in coordination with the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province, organized the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Festival 2023 with the theme: Information and Communications, a bright spot in Vietnam-Laos cooperation.

According to Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Lam, the "Vietnam - Laos Special Friendship Festival 2023" program is an activity to commemorate the 61st anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Laos (1962 - 2023) and the 46th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between the two countries (1977 - 2023).

In the current process of reform in each country, both Vietnam and Laos have achieved great and historically significant accomplishments in economics, society, and foreign relations, helping to strengthen and expand the close cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Laos in many fields.

Event - The

Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Lam chaired the press conference introducing the "Vietnam - Laos Special Friendship Festival 2023".

With the theme "Information and communication, a highlight in Vietnam-Laos cooperation," the "Vietnam-Laos Special Friendship Festival 2023" will be inaugurated on the morning of November 11th at the Thua Thien Hue Cultural and Film Center, Phu Nhuan Ward, Hue City.

The program, featuring a series of significant events showcasing the strong friendship between the people of the two countries, includes: a photo exhibition, a trade fair and exhibition, a scientific seminar, and a Vietnam-Laos art exchange night.

The photo exhibition, featuring a total of 200 photographs, is divided into four themes: The 61-year history of the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos; Vietnam and Laos on the path of development; Outstanding achievements in Vietnam-Laos cooperation in the field of information and communication; and Thua Thien Hue accompanying the development of the country.

The fair and exhibition, featuring over 50 booths, was highlighted by booths from the Vietnam News Agency, Nhan Dan Newspaper, and Voice of Vietnam Radio, showcasing informational publications and media programs in the Lao language. In addition, it was supported by information technology and telecommunications companies such as Viettel, VNPT, and VTC, as well as businesses operating in the tourism and trade sectors.

The scientific seminar on the theme "Prospects for Vietnam-Laos Media Cooperation: Challenges and Solutions" provided an opportunity for speakers from both countries to exchange views on journalistic practices, digital transformation trends in journalism and media, and the role of information and communication in promoting trade and increasing investment between the two countries.

Besides specialized events, there will be cultural and artistic exchanges between the people of Vietnam and Laos, especially between the people of Thua Thien Hue province and the provinces of Salavan and Sekong, and between Vietnamese and Lao students living and studying in Hue.

The "Vietnam - Laos Special Friendship Festival 2023" program further enhances the traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos .
