According to the decision of Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Van Hieu, the transfer of public high schools will be decentralized to the principals of the schools to handle.
In addition, the re-enrollment of high school students is also delegated to school principals by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training.
The Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City assigned the Department's general education department to be responsible for guiding schools to carry out the above-decentralized tasks.
Before the merger, the transfer of schools from kindergarten to high school in Ho Chi Minh City was handled by the principal. In addition to ensuring compliance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training , the principal of the school from which the student transferred and the principal of the school from which the student transferred had to agree. Only then could the student transfer schools.
The Ministry of Education and Training stipulates that school transfer must fall into one of the following two cases: students change residence with their father or mother; students have especially difficult family circumstances or students have truly legitimate reasons for transferring schools.
After merging with Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau , Ho Chi Minh City has 170 affiliated high schools. Of which, there are 4 specialized schools: Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted, Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted and Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted.
