On the afternoon of August 18, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health announced that in order to help people living in the two areas of Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau (old) to be able to use the emergency services of the Ho Chi Minh City health system, the city's health sector has accelerated the expansion of the network of satellite emergency stations in these two areas.
Previously, on August 15, two new satellite emergency stations in the old Binh Duong area, including satellite station 115 belonging to Binh Duong General Hospital and Military Hospital 4, officially came into operation.
After one day, two more satellite emergency stations located at Ba Ria General Hospital and Vung Tau General Hospital officially came into operation, bringing the total number of satellite emergency stations to 49.
Adding more satellite stations in Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau (old) areas is one of the urgent activities and will continue to be implemented by the health sector in the coming time.
Over the past time, the Ho Chi Minh City health sector has gradually standardized the coordination regulations between out-of-hospital and in-hospital emergency care, strengthening the connection between hospitals and the 115 emergency system.
The emergency response force is also trained in a standardized approach and treatment according to the ABCDE priority problem, according to the guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO), the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the International Federation of Emergency Medicine (IFEM).
To ensure the smooth and effective operation of the entire emergency response system, the 115 switchboard has been invested in and equipped with modern facilities.
Since the beginning of 2021, the 115 Emergency Center has deployed an emergency dispatch software system, which helps optimize the call reception process, analyze emergency situations in real time, and automatically dispatch ambulances to the most suitable locations.
In addition, the 115 hotline has deployed consulting and first aid instructions via phone, both reassuring and helping people to do what they should do while waiting for the emergency team to arrive, and can even provide first aid instructions remotely.
The process of instructing on cardiopulmonary resuscitation, first aid for choking on foreign objects, etc. via phone has really contributed to saving the lives of many critically ill patients in recent times.
A modern emergency center meeting international standards will soon be formed.
According to plan, by the end of 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City health sector will start construction of a new 115 Emergency Center at Tan Kien Specialized Medical Cluster.
The health sector expects a modern emergency center that meets international standards to be established soon, which is one of the indispensable conditions when transforming outpatient emergency activities in Ho Chi Minh City towards professionalism.
