According to an announcement from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, starting from the next semester, the class schedules will be adjusted compared to the current schedule. Under this plan, the first class session will run from 6:30 AM to 9:00 AM, instead of the current 7:00 AM to 9:15 AM. The fourth class session will end at 6:00 PM instead of 5:25 PM.

Many students have reacted negatively to the school's class schedule, arguing that starting classes at 6:30 AM is too early, forcing them to rush through meals and commuting at the beginning of the day.

In addition, the fact that the fourth shift of the day ends late (at 6 PM) also causes inconvenience for students in terms of commuting, especially for students who work part-time evening shifts.

Not only do students feel pressured by starting classes so early, but faculty and staff also have to take their children to and from school.

Speaking to a reporter from Dan Tri newspaper about the incident, Mr. Pham Thai Son, Director of the Admissions and Communications Center at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, said that the new class schedule mentioned above was proposed by the university to gather student feedback and has not yet been implemented.

Mr. Pham Thai Son stated that, traditionally, each class period at the school consisted of 45 minutes of actual learning time, with students having 5 minutes to move between classes. However, recently, the Ministry of Education and Training 's educational quality accreditation team has required that the actual learning time must be 50 minutes.

The school's plan to adjust class schedules aims to ensure that each lesson lasts 50 minutes, as stipulated by the Ministry of Education and Training.

Recognizing that adjusting class schedules will affect the long-standing routines of students and faculty, the school is continuing to gather feedback on the most suitable adjustment plan.
