According to the announcement of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, from the next semester, the expected starting time of the shifts will be adjusted compared to the current schedule. According to this plan, the first shift of the day will start at 6:30 to 9:00, instead of 7:00 to 9:15 as at present. The fourth shift will end at 6:00 to 5:25 p.m.
Many students reacted to this school schedule, saying that starting class at 6:30 a.m. is too early, forcing them to rush around eating and moving around at the beginning of the day.

Besides, the 4th shift of the day ends late (at 6pm), which also causes inconvenience for students in commuting, especially for students who work the evening shift.
Not only students, starting school too early also puts pressure on teachers and school staff who have to take their children to school.
Talking to Dan Tri reporter about the incident, MSc. Pham Thai Son, Director of the Admissions and Communications Center, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, said that the new schedule was proposed by the school to get students' opinions and has not been put into practice yet.
Mr. Pham Thai Son said that for a long time, each class at school consisted of 45 minutes of actual study and students had 5 minutes to move between classes. However, recently, the Ministry of Education and Training ’s education quality inspection team required that 50 minutes of actual study must be ensured.
The school's plan to adjust class hours is to ensure each class period lasts 50 minutes as prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training.
Recognizing that adjusting class hours affects the long-standing living habits of students and lecturers, the school is continuing to seek opinions on the most appropriate time adjustment plan.
