There was a woman who was silently carrying the burden of illness and loneliness on her shoulders. Her life had no relatives by her side, no valuable assets, only her utmost efforts, with a little weak strength clinging to the fragile ray of hope of life.

In Quan market hamlet, Nghi Loc commune, people often talk about the poor woman Ha Thi Loan. She is a disabled widow, the locals still call her Mrs. Loan hunchback. Twice a day, she is present around the market area, picking up whatever she can to make a living. At the age of 60, with no one to rely on, she still struggles to make ends meet.

The property that Mrs. Loan had accumulated was a house full of scraps from the inside out. Since her husband died and her only daughter left, she had to accept living like that. Because of her health and illness, she could not do any other work. Even the dilapidated house, the widow could not find any money to repair.

Sickness and disease tormented her body. But the poor woman did not know about the hospital. Mrs. Loan's life just passed by, like a candle in the wind. The people here could only pity the fate of a person who had existed so precariously for the past several decades.

Every month, Mrs. Loan has 2 days to eat and live properly. Those are on the full moon or the last day of the lunar month, she relies on Buddhism with the job of cleaning a small pagoda in the commune. Here, she is supported by kind-hearted monks, nuns, and Buddhists with some food and drink. But then her health gradually weakens, Mrs. Loan worries, one day, she does not know if she will have the strength to come to this compassionate place or not.
