Temporarily stop receiving visitors to visit and worship at Thuong Temple from April 16 to August 31, 2024 for restoration and repair.

Today (April 17), Lao Cai City People's Committee issued Notice No. 377/TB-UBND on temporarily suspending sightseeing, worshiping, and ritual activities at Thuong Temple and Am Temple.

According to Mr. Ngo Ngoc Ha, Head of the Monument Management Board of Lao Cai city, the temporary suspension of receiving visitors at Thuong Temple and Am Temple is to implement Decision No. 2839/QD-UBND, dated August 11, 2023 on approving the Project to restore and embellish the relics of Thuong Temple and Am Temple.

The temporary suspension of welcoming tourists and people to visit, worship and perform rituals at the Upper Temple and Am Temple starts from April 16, 2024 (ie March 8, Giap Thin year) to August 31, 2024 (ie July 28, Giap Thin year).

List and location of items to be restored and repaired at Thuong Temple and Am Temple.

It is known that the Project to restore and embellish the relics of Thuong Temple and Am Temple will be carried out on a large scale. Specifically, at Thuong Temple, the demolition will be carried out to restore the main temple, the inner gate, the left and right houses, the ceremony house, the lady's house, the mother's house, the gold-burning house... At Am Temple, the demolition will be carried out to restore the main temple, the ceremony house, the mother's house, the gold-burning house...

Along with that, the Lao Cai City Monument Management Board also organized the renovation and beautification of yards, gardens, auxiliary works, exteriors, and landscapes around the temples.
