
Today (April 17), Lao Cai City People's Committee issued Notice No. 377/TB-UBND on temporarily suspending sightseeing, worshiping, and ritual activities at Thuong Temple and Am Temple.
According to Mr. Ngo Ngoc Ha, Head of the Lao Cai City Monuments Management Board, the temporary suspension of receiving visitors at Thuong Temple and Am Temple is to implement Decision No. 2839/QD-UBND, dated August 11, 2023 on approving the Project to restore and embellish the Thuong Temple and Am Temple relics.
The temporary suspension of welcoming tourists and people to visit, worship and perform rituals at Thuong Temple and Am Temple starts from April 16, 2024 (ie March 8, Giap Thin year) to August 31, 2024 (ie July 28, Giap Thin year).

It is known that the Project to restore and embellish the relics of Thuong Temple and Am Temple will be carried out on a large scale. Specifically, for Thuong Temple, the main temple, the inner gate, the left house, the right house, the ceremony house, the lady's house, the mother's house, the gold-burning house, etc. will be demolished to restore the main temple, the ceremony house, the mother's house, the gold-burning house, etc. At Am Temple, the main temple, the ceremony house, the mother's house, the mother's house, the gold-burning house will be demolished to restore the gold-burning house, etc.
Along with that, the Lao Cai City Monument Management Board also organized the renovation and embellishment of yards, gardens, auxiliary works, exteriors, and landscapes around the temples.
