During the verification process, the Police Investigation Agency determined that the group of teenagers who arranged to race were currently residing in Dau Tieng district and Ben Cat town (Binh Duong province).
This group of teenagers met online and arranged to race on the DT744 road (in Ben Tranh hamlet, Thanh An commune, Dau Tieng district, Binh Duong province) from Dau Tieng town to Thanh An commune.
According to the investigating agency, the motorcycles used for racing were all modified and altered from their original designs.
The police in Dau Tieng district have seized 11 motorcycles of various types and 3 pellet guns from the teenagers participating in the street race, and are continuing to consolidate the case file for strict handling in accordance with the law.
Previously, in Binh Duong province, many young people gathered to race motorcycles, terrifying the local residents. Specifically, on April 3rd, a video circulated on social media showing hundreds of young people on motorcycles gathering on My Phuoc Tan Van road, in Thuan Giao ward (Thuan An district, Binh Duong province).
Most of the motorcycles used were modified. Many young people, without helmets, rode their motorcycles into the car lanes, showing signs of blocking cars to race.
On My Phuoc Tan Van road, a group of young men continuously revved their engines and sped along. Not stopping there, these young men split into smaller groups to race at high speeds. Pairs and groups of them sped along on their motorbikes, the deafening roar of their engines filling the air.
