From early morning, many candidates were present at the exam site of Son Duong High School. They took the opportunity to check the information and the items allowed to be brought into the exam room and asked and encouraged each other before the exam. The weather on the first exam day was cool in the morning and hot in the afternoon, but the exam rooms were all equipped with air conditioners and fans to serve the candidates, so the candidates felt very secure. Tran Sy Loc, Son Duong High School, said: "To prepare for the exam, I woke up at 5 am and prepared my items, had breakfast and then went to the exam site. This year I will take the exam to enter the People's Police Academy, so I am determined to do well in the exam to fulfill my dream."

In the 2025 high school graduation exam, in Tuyen Quang province, there were more than 10,000 candidates registered to take the exam. On the first day of the exam, the Literature exam had a candidate rate of over 99.5%, and the Math exam had a candidate rate of 99.6%. The organization of the exam at 30/30 exam sites took place safely, seriously and in accordance with regulations. There was 1 candidate at the exam site of Son Nam High School (Son Duong) who brought a phone into the exam room and was suspended from the exam.

After finishing the Literature exam, many candidates left the exam site in high spirits because they did well on the exam. Many candidates said that this year's Literature exam was in line with the spirit of educational innovation with a very high openness. Candidate Le Hong Hanh, who took the exam at Xuan Huy High School (Yen Son), shared: "The exam consists of two parts, in which part I is reading - comprehension worth 4 points and part II is writing worth 6 points. In which, the 4-point question requires candidates: "From the reading comprehension results of the text "Different skies" and the understanding of the country's context that is undergoing many great changes, please write an essay (about 600 words) with the topic "Every homeland's sky is the sky of the Fatherland". Almost all of my classmates did it and found that this year's exam was very good."

Teacher Nguyen Thi Thu Duyen, a Literature teacher at Y La High School (Tuyen Quang City) said: "This year's Literature exam is not a puzzle. The social discussion section is especially impressive when it stimulates students' thinking about the changing context of the country where every part of the homeland is a sacred part of the Fatherland. This is an open-ended question, allowing students to express their personal thoughts and feelings instead of following a mechanical pattern. Through that, education also shows respect for the independent thinking of the young generation."

Regarding Math, many candidates leaving the exam room said that this year's exam was more difficult than last year's and had a very high level of differentiation. Do Quang Anh, class 12 C7, Tan Trao High School (Tuyen Quang City) said: "This year's Math exam has 12 multiple choice questions and 4 true or false questions. It must be said that this year's exam is quite difficult for most students. If an average student has to try very hard to get 5 points."

Sharing the same thought, candidate Nguyen Anh Hoang, class 12 D, Provincial Boarding High School for Ethnic Minorities expressed: "The structure of the exam according to the new program in 2018 has many changes compared to the old program, in addition to the multiple choice part, there is also a true and false part that requires candidates to spend more time thinking and calculating. Part 3 in particular are difficult questions, only those with good academic performance or higher can get a score of 8".

Create all conditions for candidates to take the exam

With the motto of caring and creating the most favorable conditions, not allowing any candidate due to difficult circumstances to not be able to attend the exam, agencies, units and localities in the province have organized many meaningful activities for candidates in the 2024 exam season. This year's "Supporting the exam season" activities implemented by Tuyen Quang Provincial Youth Union, the Provincial Buddhist Sangha Executive Committee and units were very effective, such as giving gifts to candidates in difficult circumstances, establishing a motorbike taxi team to pick up and drop off, serving drinks, supporting free lunches... for candidates. Thereby demonstrating the humanity and concern of the whole society for the exam, creating the best conditions for candidates to pass the "gate of heaven".

On the first day of the exam, over 5,100 meals, 5,000 bottles of water and milk were handed over by volunteers, monks and Buddhists in the province to the candidates and the support team at 30 exam sites across the province. This is one of the meaningful activities for candidates organized by Tuyen Quang Provincial Youth Union in coordination with the Provincial Buddhist Sangha Executive Committee to organize "Supporting the exam season" 2025.

Ma Thi Xuan, a 12th grade student of C6 at Minh Quang High School (Lam Binh), said: “The warm and meaningful free lunches, bottles of water, and cartons of milk have given the candidates with difficult circumstances the strength to strive to achieve the best exam results. When we go to school or work tomorrow, we will always remember an exam filled with love, an exam without pressure and with the attention of the whole society.”

Right before this important exam, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of the Department of Education and Training visited schools to check the exam preparations and encouraged candidates to achieve the best results. On the afternoon of June 23, Director of the Department of Education and Training Vu Dinh Hung visited and encouraged staff, teachers and students at the exam site of Xuan Huy High School (Yen Son).

Here, he wished the teachers to complete their exam supervision tasks well, and at the same time advised the 12th grade students to stay calm and confident to do well on the exam. On this occasion, the Director of the Department of Education and Training gave a gift to encourage Tuong Thi Dang, a Dao ethnic student in Hamlet 4, Lang Quan Commune (Yen Son).

Dang emotionally confided: “A week ago, my family’s house burned down, life fell into difficulty. Fortunately, I received support from all levels and sectors to help my family stabilize their lives. The gift from the Director of the Department of Education and Training, teachers and friends is the motivation to help me overcome difficulties to achieve the best exam results.”

With many different purposes, such as only taking the graduation exam, taking the graduation exam and getting the university entrance exam results, or only taking the university entrance exam…, the mood of each candidate is different. However, most candidates enter the exam with excitement and confidence, excited because they receive attention and encouragement from all sides from their families, schools and the whole society.

During the exam period, many families also spent time caring for and encouraging their children to create a sense of security and comfort for them. Ms. Nguyen Thi Dinh in Vinh Loi commune (Son Duong) shared: "I have a grandchild in grade 12. Because her parents work far away, she lives with me, so today when she took the exam, I arranged to take her to the exam site. Normally, she can go by herself, but I wanted to take her to encourage her, hoping that she can achieve her dreams and aspirations."

After completing the first day of the exam, tomorrow (June 27), candidates taking the 2018 General Education Program will complete two optional exams in the morning, each subject lasting 50 minutes. For candidates taking the 2006 General Education Program, they will complete the combined exam of Natural Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) or Social Sciences (History, Geography, Civic Education) in the morning, each subject lasting 50 minutes, and the Foreign Language exam in the afternoon, lasting 60 minutes.
