See the Honda GT - new electric car with 6-screen interior

If the name Honda GT electric conjures up images of powerful luxury coupes like the Bentley Continental GT, Honda's new pair of cars probably won't excite you.

However, if you love the idea of ​​affordable family electric cars with sporty designs and lots of screens, you'll find a lot to like in the two Honda models that debuted at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show last week.

Honda's two new models are both called GT but are distributed by two different joint ventures. The red one is a product of the GAC-Honda joint venture and the blue one is sold by Dongfeng-Honda. Basically, these two models are the same. They are produced at the same factory in China and are currently only for this billion-people market.

Both Honda GT models in China feature a black “H” logo under the hood and “Honda” lettering on the front doors. However, the Dongfeng-Honda joint venture has opted for LED daytime running lights and “Y”-shaped taillights, inspired by the Lamborghini Revuelto. Meanwhile, the GAC-Honda joint venture uses a two-tier LED system up front and keeps the taillight design simpler.

In addition, Honda's two new electric cars also have digital cameras instead of traditional rearview mirrors. Therefore, inside the car there will be 2 small screens mounted on the doors to display images from this camera. These are just 2 of 6 screens arranged in the high-tech interior of the Honda GT.

The car's other four screens include a digital instrument cluster high on the dashboard, a traditional central touchscreen, a smaller screen below (which can be used to adjust the air conditioning), and a large screen for the front passengers.

The passenger display is larger and bulkier than most we’ve seen. The two Honda GTs are currently concept cars and not yet in production. They’re part of the second wave of Honda’s Ye electric vehicle line, designed specifically for the Chinese market.

Although Honda has not announced engine specifications, we can speculate based on the first Ye models, including the S7 and P7. Accordingly, the Honda S7 and P7 in the Chinese market have both RWD and AWD versions. The RWD version uses a 268-horsepower electric motor. The corresponding figure for the AWD version is 469 horsepower.

Some sources from Chinese media said that Honda GT will also have both single-motor and dual-motor versions. Of which, the single-motor version will have a 50:50 front/rear weight distribution ratio. The selling time and price of Honda GT 2026 in the Chinese market are still unknown.
