If the name Honda GT electric car evokes images of powerful luxury coupes like the Bentley Continental GT, then Honda's new pair of vehicles might not excite you. |

However, if you like the idea of affordable, sporty- looking electric family cars with multiple screens, you'll find plenty to enjoy in the two Honda models that debuted at the Shanghai Auto Show 2025 last week. |

Both of Honda's new GT models are distributed by two different joint ventures. The red one is a product of the GAC-Honda joint venture, while the blue one is sold by Dongfeng-Honda. Essentially, these two models are the same. They are manufactured at the same factory in China and are currently only available in the Chinese market. |

Both Honda GT models in China feature an "H" logo under the black hood and the word "Honda" on the front door. However, the Dongfeng-Honda joint venture opted for LED daytime running lights and Y-shaped taillights, inspired by the Lamborghini Revuelto. Meanwhile, the GAC-Honda joint venture uses a two-tiered LED lighting system at the front and keeps the taillight design simpler. |

In addition, Honda's two new electric models also feature digital cameras instead of traditional rearview mirrors. Therefore, the interior will have two small screens mounted on the doors to display images from these cameras. These are just two of the six screens featured in the high-tech interior of the Honda GT. |

The car's remaining four screens include a digital instrument cluster mounted high on the dashboard, a traditional central touchscreen, a smaller screen below (which can be used to adjust the climate control), and a large screen for the front passenger. |

This passenger-side screen is larger and more bulky than most others we've seen. Currently, the two new Honda GT models are only concept cars and have not yet gone into mass production. These two GT models belong to the second wave of Honda's Ye electric vehicle line, designed specifically for the Chinese market. |

Although Honda hasn't officially announced the engine specifications, we can infer them based on the first Ye models, including the S7 and P7. Accordingly, the Honda S7 and P7 in the Chinese market are available in both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) versions. The RWD version uses a single electric motor producing 268 horsepower. The corresponding figure for the AWD version is 469 horsepower. |

Some sources from Chinese media indicate that the Honda GT will also have both single-motor and dual-motor versions. The single-motor version will have a 50:50 front/rear weight distribution. The release date and price of the 2026 Honda GT in the Chinese market remain unknown. |
