Strengthening knowledge of nutritional care in the first 1,000 days of life for provincial health workers

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - During 3 days from August 5 to 7, in Thanh Hoa, the Institute of Nutrition organized a training course to enhance knowledge on implementing nutritional care counseling in the first 1,000 days of life in the community for provincial health workers with communes in region 3 (according to Decision 861/QD-TTg dated June 4, 2021 of the Prime Minister).

At the training course, trainees who are officers working in nutrition and maternal and child health care at the Center for Disease Control or equivalent units in the area (in charge of implementing the nutrition care model in the first 1,000 days of life under the National Target Program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the period 2021-2030) were introduced to the Nutrition Care Model in the First 1,000 Days of Life and the task of improving the capacity of grassroots health workers to implement the model.

The training course helps health workers working in the field of maternal and child health care at all levels to be able to effectively advise and support mothers, caregivers, families and communities in practicing nutrition for children aged 0-24 months according to the recommendations of the World Health Organization; provide advice and support to HIV-infected mothers in choosing appropriate feeding methods for their children in the first 2 years after birth...
