Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee has just sent a document to departments, branches, sectors, People's Committees of communes, wards and special zones on strengthening the implementation of solutions to prevent and resolve air pollution in the last months of 2025.
Accordingly, in order to be proactive in organizing and implementing measures to control, prevent and minimize pollution, protect the environment as well as people's health, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment (DARD) to review and develop a plan for periodic and unscheduled inspections, strictly handle violations in compliance with environmental protection laws for industrial establishments with large sources of emissions (cement, thermal power, iron and steel, etc.), establishments of types that pose a risk of causing environmental pollution; review and request production, business and service establishments that are subject to the installation of automatic and continuous emission monitoring systems and transmit data to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, Ministry of Agriculture and Environment for inspection and supervision according to regulations; coordinate with the Department of Construction, relevant agencies, units and localities to strictly control and strictly handle means of transporting goods and construction materials that are not covered, spill, and cause dust to spread; Check, supervise, and require 100% of project owners and construction units to strictly implement measures to minimize dust and gas emissions (covering construction sites, spraying water, washing vehicles entering and exiting construction sites, etc.).
The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Construction to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies and units to review and accelerate the development and implementation of projects and programs on "low emission zones" in large cities; promote the conversion to public transport, vehicles using clean energy, green energy, environmentally friendly, research and develop infrastructure to serve these types of vehicles. The People's Committees of communes, wards and special zones propagate and disseminate information on air quality to people, recommend limiting outdoor activities when the air index is at bad or hazardous levels.
Regarding the work of monitoring, forecasting, warning and publicizing information on air quality, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to maintain stable and continuous operation of existing air quality monitoring stations in the province; publish daily air quality indexes on mass media, local electronic information portals and applications on mobile devices for people to easily access, along with recommendations to protect public health...
