Raised alert level III on Yen River, prohibiting motor vehicles from traveling on the dike

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - At 11:00 p.m. on August 25, 2025, the Civil Defense Command of Thanh Hoa province issued Official Dispatch No. 20 to the Chairmen of the People's Committees of the communes: Nong Cong, Thang Binh, Truong Van, Trung Chinh, Thang Loi, Tuong Linh, Quang Chinh, Tien Trang, Quang Yen, Quang Ngoc, Ngoc Son, Cac Son and Dong Son ward regarding the issuance of alert III on Yen River at Chuoi Hydrological Station.

According to the flood warning bulletin on Yen River No. CBLU-34/22h00/THOA dated August 25, 2025 of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Hydrometeorological Station, at 9:00 p.m. on August 25, the water level on Yen River at Chuoi Hydrological Station was +2.61 m (0.17 m below BĐII) and was continuing to rise; the warning water level of Yen River at Chuoi Hydrological Station is likely to reach Alarm Level III (+3.5 m) at around 2-4:00 a.m. on August 26, 2025.

The Provincial Civil Defense Command issued a third alert on the Yen River at the Chuoi Hydrological Station, requesting the Chairmen of the People's Committees of the above-mentioned communes and wards:

Continue to deploy dike patrols and dike protection according to alarm levels.

Organize inspection, review and be ready to deploy plans to ensure the safety of dike works; especially key weak points of dikes and sluices under dikes in the area; prepare materials, means and human resources according to the "4 on-site" motto to handle immediately when bad situations occur.

Proactively deploy evacuation plans to ensure absolute safety for people living in riverbank areas; warn people not to participate in activities such as traveling, collecting firewood, or fishing along rivers and on rivers.

Prohibit all motor vehicles from traveling on the dike (except for dike protection vehicles, dike inspection vehicles, vehicles on national defense and security duty, ambulances, fire trucks, vehicles on dike incident response and natural disaster prevention duty).

Organize a 24/7 duty team, closely monitor the development of rain and floods to be ready to handle situations from the first hour; promptly inform and report to the Provincial Disaster Prevention and Control Command Office and the Standing Office of the Provincial Civil Defense Command.

Previously, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on August 25, the Provincial Civil Defense Command issued telegrams issuing alert I and alert II orders on the Yen River.
