On September 9th, a delegation from Alunmay Magazine (Laos), led by Editor-in-Chief Vanlaty Khamvanvongsa, visited and worked at VietnamPlus Online Newspaper (Vietnam News Agency) to learn about the operational mechanisms, multimedia production processes, and experiences in digital transformation of journalism.
Also attending the meeting were Ms. Tran Thi Thang, Head of the Editorial Secretariat and External Relations Department (Vietnam News Agency); and Mr. Le Hai, Member of the Editorial Board and Head of the Electronic Communist Magazine Department.
Welcoming colleagues from Laos with delight, the Editor-in-Chief of VietnamPlus Online Newspaper, Tran Tien Duan, stated that the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam were founded by President Ho Chi Minh , President Kaysone Phomvihane, President Souphanouvong, and other revolutionary predecessors of both countries, and have been inherited by generations to this day, becoming a relationship rarely found in the history of international relations.

Mr. Tran Tien Duan briefly introduced the proud history of the Vietnam News Agency as the official source of information for the Party and the State, tasked with providing information, documents, and reports to Party and State leaders, playing a leading role in refuting false information.
"As a news unit under the Vietnam News Agency, VietnamPlus Online Newspaper is constantly innovating and applying technology to journalistic production," said Mr. Tran Tien Duan.
Informing Lao journalists, Mr. Tran Tien Duan said that from its inception, VietnamPlus Online Newspaper has embraced the trend of digital transformation by implementing a modern CMS system, creating new journalistic products based on technology platforms, and proactively expanding relationships with domestic and international technology partners.

According to Editor-in-Chief Tran Tien Duan, VietnamPlus develops based on the principle of upholding the core values of information, the authenticity of the Vietnam News Agency, and protecting the creative copyrights of authors and organizations. At the same time, it strives to become a newspaper integrating various types of information, leading the way in applying new technologies to the electronic information production process, meeting the increasingly high demands of readers.
“After 17 years of operation, in addition to maintaining our current position, we continue to focus on developing VietnamPlus into a strong national online foreign affairs newspaper, serving as an official information channel on the foreign policy of the Party and the State,” Editor-in-Chief Tran Tien Duan affirmed.
Representatives from the information departments of VietnamPlus Online Newspaper also shared information about the multimedia journalistic products currently being developed by the editorial office.

Also attending the meeting, Mr. Le Hai, a member of the Editorial Board and Head of the Electronic Communist Magazine, stated that Alunmay Magazine is the theoretical and practical organ of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, with the mission of researching, summarizing, and disseminating the theory and practice of building the Party and the country of Laos.
Alunmay Magazine has close ties with the Communist Magazine of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam . Over the years, the Communist Magazine has sent experts to exchange experiences and expertise with Alunmay Magazine.
“In the current development context, Alunmay Magazine is very interested in digital transformation, but progress has not been as desired. I believe that the digital transformation experience of VietnamPlus Online Newspaper will be helpful to Alunmay Magazine,” said Mr. Le Hai.

Speaking at the meeting, Editor-in-Chief Vanlaty Khamvanvongsa stated that Alunmay Magazine's mission is to disseminate the Party's political and theoretical issues, and to serve as a reputable and authoritative source of information on political theory domestically, regionally, and internationally, supporting research and study by leaders, officials, and Party members from the central to local levels in Laos.
Currently, the Lao government is actively promoting administrative reforms, including the merger of several ministries to streamline the apparatus and improve operational efficiency. In response to the demands of this new situation, Alunmay Magazine needs to accelerate its digital transformation process.
“The Vietnam News Agency is a media organization that is strongly developing in technology, and VietnamPlus Online Newspaper is a pioneer in the digital transformation process, with many innovative journalistic products. Based on the experience of VietnamPlus Online Newspaper, we will study and apply it appropriately in the operation of our magazine,” said Mr. Vanlaty Khamvanvongsa.
