Tay Ninh organizes international standard marathon around Ba Den mountain

On August 2 and 3, Tay Ninh will organize an international standard marathon with about 8,000 athletes around Ba Den Mountain.

The race will take place in Ba Den Mountain ( Tay Ninh Province), with 4 distances: 5km, 10km, 21km and 42km. The starting and finishing points are located at the cable car station square, next to the highest mountain in the South. This is the 5th year this race has been held annually.

In particular, this year, for the first time, Tay Ninh has a race certified by international standards from the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) and the Vietnam Athletics Federation. At the same time, the athletes' competition results can be used to register for major races around the world such as the Boston Marathon or the New York Marathon.

According to the organizers, the running route has been carefully measured and evaluated, ensuring the criteria of distance, terrain, altitude and weather conditions. In addition to the professional factors, the running route also passes through many typical landmarks of Tay Ninh such as Nui Da Lake, Ma Thien Lanh area, Cao Dai Holy See... bringing a rich experience to the participants.

The tournament also has prizes divided by age group and distance, in which the two main distances (21km and 42km) have a total prize of more than 166 million VND. In addition, there are prizes for participating clubs and teams, bringing the total prize value to more than 280 million VND.

The opening ceremony will take place on the afternoon of August 2nd at the cable car station. On the morning of August 3rd, athletes will compete in each registered distance.

The tournament is organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tay Ninh in coordination with event organizers and businesses in the province.

The running track runs around Ba Den Mountain, passing through familiar landmarks.

The route of this year's race not only challenges physical strength but also takes participants through many familiar locations in Tay Ninh.

From the foot of Ba Den Mountain, the starting and finishing point, the route loops around Nui Da Lake, the Ma Thien Lanh area, and then heads towards the Cao Dai Holy See. Each destination is associated with the typical landscapes and religious characteristics of this land.
