Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway connects Ho Chi Minh City - Dong Nai

This is one of the key transport projects that the Government has requested to accelerate progress, in order to soon put the expressway connecting the Southeast region into synchronous operation.

With a length of 19.5km and a total investment of more than VND 7,216 billion, component project 3 was technically opened to traffic on April 19, 2025, becoming a strategically important route in the East of Ho Chi Minh City. The route not only opens the way to the Cai Mep - Thi Vai port cluster but also plays a connecting role between Bien Hoa and Ba Ria.

Currently, the main road of the project has completed the asphalt concrete surface, the paint system, the median strip and the protective fence. The construction teams are focusing on the lighting system, traffic safety, and completing the traffic organization at the Hoi Bai - Phuoc Tan intersection and National Highway 56.

According to the Regional Traffic Project Management Board and the Agricultural Sector of Ba Ria - Vung Tau, the site clearance for the main area has been 100% completed. The additional areas in Tam Long ward, Tan Thanh ward, Chau Pha commune and the My Xuan - Ngai Giao intersection are being urgently inventoried by the localities, and compensation plans are being drawn up to hand over the site as soon as possible.

The bridge system on the route is also approaching the finish line. All 4 main bridges have been completed. Of the 7 overpasses, 5 have been completed; 2 bridges at Km42+167 and Km46+504 are being accelerated in terms of bridge deck and bridgehead construction to be completed in December 2025. The feeder roads have reached more than 95% of the volume.

The project progress (excluding the additional intersection and overpass) ensures completion of site work before December 15. The progress of the remaining project items ensures completion before December 31.

Component 3 project of Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway reaches 97% progress

The important highlight is that the project component 3 has been technically opened to traffic since April, helping to create an "open road" for the project component 2 through Dong Nai (currently reaching more than 70% of output) to be able to connect. From Long Thanh area to the border of Ho Chi Minh City, the expressway has basically been connected, waiting for the completion of the last meters of asphalt on the section through Dong Nai to form a continuous axis from Bien Hoa to Ba Ria area.
