| On behalf of the President of Vietnam, Deputy Minister of Public Security Tran Quoc To presented the "Medal of Courage" to a representative of the family of Mr. Phan Van Thanh. |
Mr. Phan Van Thanh, defying danger and sacrificing himself to save three young children swept away by floods, demonstrated courage, compassion, and a sense of responsibility towards the community. In recognition of this heroic act, the President posthumously awarded him the Medal of Courage.
According to the decision, the Provincial People's Committee launched a campaign for all officials, civil servants, employees, and people of all ethnic groups in the province to study and emulate Mr. Phan Văn Thành.
The learning focuses on three main areas: courage and willingness to sacrifice for the community; a sense of responsibility in work and towards the people; and spreading the spirit of solidarity, love, sharing, and practical action in life and work.
The Provincial People's Committee requests that departments, agencies, and localities organize widespread dissemination of information through mass media, social networks, agencies, units, and residential areas; promptly identify, commend, and reward exemplary individuals, good deeds, courageous actions, and noble gestures.
The movement is linked to patriotic campaigns and emulation movements such as: "Studying and following the thoughts, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh ", "All people unite to build a cultured life", "All people protect national security"...
The Department of Internal Affairs is tasked with monitoring and compiling results, advising the Provincial People's Committee on awarding commendations and replicating best practices; relevant agencies, units, and localities are responsible for implementing the plan synchronously and effectively.
