Thai Thuy Power Company is urgently working to repair damage after Typhoon No. 3.
Following Typhoon No. 3, businesses in the Lien Ha Thai Industrial Park have stabilized their production and operations. Ms. Do Thi Quynh, representative of Lotes Vietnam Co., Ltd., shared: The typhoon knocked down the main entrance, ripped off the roof of the service building, damaged two roller doors, and damaged the elevator circuit board... of the company, with estimated losses exceeding 500 million VND. The company has allocated manpower and resources to repair the damaged factory buildings and equipment. By the morning of September 9th, the company had returned to normal production, with 100% of workers present on all 11 production lines. The Lien Ha Thai Industrial Park Management Board supported businesses in ensuring electricity, water, and internet supply to maintain stable production.
After the storm, electricity, water, and telecommunications in the district were gradually restored.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong from Diem Dien town said: "After the storm subsided, electricity and water were restored on the evening of September 8th, and my whole family was overjoyed."
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Chung, Director of Thai Thuy Power Company, said: "After the storm, we deployed 100% of our staff to be on duty and organized inspections and repairs. By 6 PM on September 11th, Thai Thuy Power Company had restored electricity to all communes and towns; and 100% of businesses in Lien Ha Thai Industrial Park and other industrial clusters."
In Thuy Hai commune, Mr. Ta Duy Binh, Chairman of the People's Committee, said: The commune suffered no casualties, but the roofs of the kindergarten, primary, and secondary school's parking garages were blown off, more than 30 trees were broken or uprooted, over 100 houses had their roofs blown off, and over 100 hectares of aquaculture farms were flooded... To overcome the damage, the commune's Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue Command mobilized maximum resources to clean up the environment; all fallen trees on the roads have been cleared; students have returned to school; and 50% of the flooded aquaculture area has been restored by the people.
Not only Thuy Hai commune, but all 35 communes and towns in Thai Thuy district are urgently working to repair the damage caused by typhoon No. 3.
Mr. Le Van Hoan, Deputy Head of the District's Agriculture and Rural Development Department, said: After typhoon No. 3, the district had 7,000 hectares of rice crops affected, with losses of 20% or more in yield; 350 hectares of unharvested crops were damaged and destroyed; and 1,500 hectares of aquaculture area were flooded. To overcome initial damage in agricultural production, focusing on drainage, the Department requested the People's Committees of communes and towns, and cooperatives to concentrate on directing and mobilizing all available means and pumps to drain water in combination with rapid drainage through the general system; the Irrigation Works Exploitation Enterprise assigned staff to be on duty 24/7 to prevent and control floods, monitor water levels, and focus on draining water in the fields with the motto of being proactive and flexible in operating sluices under the dikes when the water level in the fields is higher than in the river, while ensuring the safety of the structures.
Lotes Vietnam Co., Ltd. estimates the total damage caused by Typhoon No. 3 to be over 500 million VND.
