ThaiGroup Corporation (ThaiGroup) has just sent a document to the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City requesting to withdraw the investment research proposal for the Can Gio Bridge, Thu Thiem 4 Bridge and Phu My 2 Bridge Projects.
In the document, this enterprise said that in July 2025, the Group submitted a proposal to study investment in 3 bridges including: Can Gio, Thu Thiem 4 and Phu My 2.

Afterwards, ThaiGroup received feedback from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Finance and was provided with information related to these 3 projects.
From the information about the project that has been provided, along with the research of legal regulations and investment development orientation, ThaiGroup decided to withdraw the previous proposal to research and propose more suitable investment options.
Previously, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Finance responded in writing to ThaiGroup's proposal that, for PPP investment projects proposed by investors, they must not overlap with PPP projects for which a competent authority is preparing a pre-feasibility study report or for which another investor has approved the preparation of a pre-feasibility study report.
For the Can Gio Bridge and Thu Thiem 4 Bridge projects, the City People's Committee has assigned the Department of Construction to prepare and appraise the pre-feasibility study report, feasibility study report and implement related tasks.
Regarding the Phu My 2 Bridge Project, Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai Province have agreed on the policy of studying the investment of the Project under the public-private partnership (PPP) method. The City also assigned the Department of Finance to coordinate with relevant departments and agencies to propose a unit to prepare a pre-feasibility study report and submit the investment policy according to regulations.
Thus, the proposal to prepare a pre-feasibility study report for Can Gio Bridge, Thu Thiem 4 Bridge and Phu My 2 Bridge by ThaiGroup cannot be implemented because the project is being studied by a State agency.
Therefore, ThaiGroup Corporation interested in these projects can register to implement the project during the process of the City organizing a survey of investors' interest.
Currently, the Can Gio Bridge and Thu Thiem 4 Bridge projects have also received attention and investment proposals from Masterise Group and Trung Nam Group.
