Implementing Directive 354 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the province's guiding documents, in recent years, the Campaign "All people practice physical exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" in Thanh Hoa has spread widely, attracting a large number of people to respond.
By 2024, the rate of people regularly practicing sports will reach 44.6% of the province's population; the rate of sports families will reach 30.8%; the province will have 3,560 grassroots sports clubs in operation.

Every year, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organizes the Launching Ceremony of the Campaign and Olympic Running Day for the Health of the People, attracting tens of thousands of participants, thereby contributing to building a healthy lifestyle, improving community health, and creating a foundation for the development of the province's sports movement.
However, according to the Department's assessment, the mass sports movement has not yet developed evenly; facilities and a team of coaches and instructors are still lacking, especially in rural, mountainous, border and ethnic minority areas.
To continue to create a strong shift in the new period, towards the 80th anniversary of Vietnam Sports Day (March 27, 1946 - March 27, 2026), the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism requests departments, branches, sectors and People's Committees of communes and wards to strengthen propaganda of the Party's viewpoints, State policies and President Ho Chi Minh 's teachings on physical training.
With the theme "I practice every day", each person is encouraged to choose a suitable sport to practice every day, aiming at the goal of "Each person being healthy means the whole country is healthy", "A strong people makes the country prosperous".
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also requires localities to diversify sports activities at the grassroots level, promote movements among youth, workers, civil servants, the elderly and people with disabilities; develop modern sports and ethnic sports in parallel; expand sports clubs in residential areas, schools, agencies and units.
Along with that, relevant sectors are requested to improve the quality of physical education in schools; invest in building and renovating cultural and sports facilities from the budget and socialized sources; strengthen training and fostering of sports instructors and collaborators.
Localities will review after 5 years of implementing the Campaign to evaluate results, adjust appropriate solutions and promptly reward exemplary collectives and individuals.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism emphasized: promoting the physical training movement not only aims to improve people's physical strength and stature but also contributes to strengthening great solidarity, building a healthy cultural life, and promoting the province's socio-economic development.
