Important milestone of U.23 Vietnam

The Vietnam U.23 team completed the target when defeating Yemen U.23 1-0 in the "final" match at Viet Tri Stadium, thereby ranking first in Group C of the 2026 AFC U.23 qualifiers with an all-win record.

After a first half that was mainly a physical battle, the U.23 Vietnam team played more enthusiastically in the second half after coach Kim Sang-sik made a series of substitutions, before Thanh Nhan sealed the victory in the 70th minute.

The PVF-CAND striker shared: "I am very happy to score the decisive goal to help the U.23 Vietnam team participate in the U.23 Asian Cup next year. I think this is an important step forward for the U.23 Vietnam generation and the future Vietnam team."

After 3 matches, the U.23 Vietnam team had 3 consecutive victories with scores of 2-0 against U.23 Bangladesh in the opening match, then won U.23 Singapore 1-0 and most recently won U.23 Yemen 1-0 on September 9.

In all three matches, Coach Kim Sang-sik's players played proactively, slowly and steadily, wearing down their opponents in the first half before launching into an offensive play and sealing victory in the second half. It should also be added that in all three matches, Mr. Kim mixed up the lineup to experiment.

This result also continues the impressive unbeaten streak of the U.23 Vietnam team at Viet Tri Stadium, with mostly victories, rarely drawing like against U.23 Singapore 2 years ago.
