On August 24, Secretary of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Hong Linh met and had a dialogue with young people who had completed their military service and returned to their localities.

According to the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Dong Nai province, from 2020 to present, the whole province has had more than 13,000 young people completing military service.

Every year, the authorities organize vocational counseling, vocational training, career orientation, job referrals, etc. so that young people who have completed their military service can orient their careers and soon stabilize their lives.

Regarding vocational training, during the same period, vocationaltraining institutions in the area provided elementary vocational training to more than 3,100 young people who had completed their military service (mainly training in driving class B, class C, welding...) with a total cost of nearly 38 billion VND.

During the dialogue with the Secretary of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee, many difficulties and problems after demobilization were mentioned such as lack of diversity in vocational training, vocational training cards only provide elementary level training which does not meet the demand, short validity period of vocational training cards, support for loans to develop family economy...

For example, Mr. Tran Huynh Hoai Duy (residing in Long An commune, Long Thanh district), after being discharged from the army, due to difficult family circumstances, Mr. Duy applied to work at the company. After that, he wanted to learn a trade, but because his apprenticeship card had expired, he was not allowed to study.

Therefore, Mr. Duy hopes that the local government will coordinate with vocational training centers to create conditions for young people to learn vocational skills for free or extend the time of using vocational training cards.

Speaking at the dialogue, Mr. Nguyen Hong Linh acknowledged the opinions and shared many issues with young people who have completed their military service and returned to their localities.

Mr. Linh said that the job opportunities in the area are huge. Especially the Long Thanh airport project is about to be put into operation and a series of projects are about to be invested, so there is a great need for trained labor resources.

However, to increase one's value and generate high income, it requires skilled labor. To do so, the only way is to learn a trade.

Mr. Linh suggested that the discharged youths continue to demonstrate their spirit and responsibility, and make good use of the experiences they have gained in the military environment. At the same time, they should soon have a plan to learn a trade, find a job that suits their abilities, and stabilize their lives.
