Actress Thanh Tú was born in 1975 in Hanoi into a family with a tradition in the arts. Both her parents were cải lương (Vietnamese traditional opera) artists, so from a young age, she traveled with her family to various theater troupes, performing while also doing odd jobs like selling gasoline and food to earn extra income.

After graduating from the Hanoi School of Arts, Thanh Tú worked at the Cai Luong Theatre before joining the Youth Theatre. Later, she participated in the "Meeting at the Weekend " program and became known to audiences by the nickname Tú "cháo lòng" (Tú the Pork Offal Porridge).
Recently, she has impressed audiences with her roles in several television dramas such as: The Judge, Living with Mother-in-Law, Running Away from Youth, Say I Love You, Don't Make Mom Angry, and most recently, A Father's Gift … For Thanh Tú, being able to embody these characters and being loved by the audience is something she is very proud of.
Thanh Tú shared with a reporter from Dan Tri newspaper : "I feel lucky to have caught the attention of directors. Because the older I get, the fewer opportunities I have for acting roles."
Furthermore, there are many actors nowadays, and they possess diverse acting styles, giving directors a wide range of choices. If I'm invited to a film, especially for a role with significant acting opportunities and character development, it's a chance, and I always try my best to perform well," she confided.
The actress shared that she is often typecast into characters with fierce and spiteful personalities, so many people are surprised when they meet her in real life because she is very easygoing and cheerful.
"People assume that my personality in real life is just as intimidating, so they're very wary when they meet me. Some partners have said they felt a little 'intimidating' when they first met me. After meeting and talking to me, many people expressed surprise because they didn't expect me to be as gentle as a 'nun'," Thanh Tú said.

The actress from the Youth Theatre also didn't hesitate to talk about her private life. She divorced her ex-husband 10 years ago, and now they consider each other friends. They separated because they couldn't find common ground, not because of any major conflicts.
"Back then, I was young, full of longing for love, and I still wanted my husband's attention, but I didn't get it, so we separated for 6-7 months. Our feelings gradually faded, and then we broke up. I still think that the decision to divorce was the right one because I didn't want my children to witness their parents' indifference; they would have a distorted view of happiness," she recounted about the reason for their separation.
I asked Thanh Tú: "As a beautiful and talented woman, have you ever thought about remarrying a wealthy businessman or a rich man to be financially secure?"
She stated frankly: "It seems I'm not compatible with wealthy men. I've met many wealthy men, even given them my phone number, but I always delete the number when I get home. Wealthy men mean nothing to me because their money is theirs, not mine."
Perhaps I've experienced a lot of negativity in life, which is why I'm allergic to the term "tycoon." The life I have today is a result of my own choices, not because I haven't met wealthy people."

Thanh Tú said that she receives many friend requests on social media every day. These people are of all ages, young and old, but she doesn't like making new acquaintances online, so she gently explains to them that they're not compatible to avoid being bothered.
At 48, Thanh Tú still believes in love and longs for a beautiful romance. "At this age, everything slows down. I don't expect much from romantic relationships, but if fate brings us together, I'm ready to accept it. If we call each other 'husband' and 'wife,' then we must be responsible for each other," she confided.
After the hardships of separating from her ex-husband, Thanh Tú worked hard and has now bought a house and a car. She said: "I always think about bringing money home to take care of this and that, so that when I'm sick I'll never have to ask anyone for a single penny. For me, that's what hard work is all about. I'm always proud that my sacrifices have a purpose."

Currently, Thanh Tú is happy because she can still make a living from her profession. She is more relaxed now that her eldest daughter has gotten married, her second daughter is about to enter 12th grade, and she loves her mother very much.
She calls herself a "stay-at-home mom" as she personally takes care of her grandchild. She says she finds joy in taking care of her own child, and now her grandchild. Every day, when she's not filming, she often takes her grandchild for walks, exercises, and cooks for the whole family. Thanh Tú is also one of the most trendy artists, frequently using TikTok to share happy moments with her family.
