Vinh Hung ancient tower ranked as a special national monument

Chairman of Bac Lieu Provincial People's Committee Pham Van Thieu said that Vinh Hung archaeological site contains typical values of history, culture, science and aesthetics. Along with archaeological discoveries in many other localities, the discoveries of material cultural traces collected and excavated at Vinh Hung archaeological site have contributed to determining the history of the first ancient Kingdom of Phu Nam in Southeast Asia. The collected archaeological documents have become an important foundation in the history of the Southern region.

Vinh Hung ancient tower ranked as special national monument -0 — Leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Bac Lieu province received the Certificate of ranking Vinh Hung Special National Archaeological Monument.

Vinh Hung ancient tower is typical and unique, it is a tower-like architecture in the South that is still intact and has the only characteristics of an architectural foundation remaining on the ground of Oc Eo culture. The formation and existence of Vinh Hung ancient tower contributes to proving the history of the formation and development of religion and beliefs of the ancient Oc Eo culture residents in the South of Vietnam.

Bac Lieu receives the Certificate of ranking Vinh Hung Special National Archaeological Monument -0 — Leaders of Bac Lieu Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to outstanding collectives and individuals.

With the special values of the relic, the Prime Minister has ranked Vinh Hung Archaeological Site, Vinh Loi District, Bac Lieu Province as a Special National Monument in Decision No. 694/QD-TTg dated July 18, 2024. This is not only the pride of the people of Vinh Loi District, of the people of Bac Lieu Province, but also contributes practically to preserving the richness and diversity of the treasure of tangible cultural heritage of Vietnam.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Lieu province requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to coordinate with relevant agencies and functional units to urgently develop a relic planning to promptly determine the content and measures to preserve, renovate and restore the original elements of the relic.

At the same time, orient the spatial organization of auxiliary works, technical infrastructure systems and create a suitable landscape environment in the relic area to promote the value of the special national relic, gradually building this place into a Center for research and preservation of Oc Eo culture of the Southern region in the coming time. Especially calling for investment to upgrade the traffic infrastructure connecting the relic, building tourist service areas; building typical tourism products according to the type of archaeological relic, connecting tours - routes to make this place an attractive destination for visitors from near and far, well meeting the tourism development needs of the province.
