Execution of arrest warrant for temporary detention in property fraud case

Regarding the case of fraud and appropriation of property that occurred in Khanh Binh commune, An Phu district (now Khanh Binh commune, An Giang province), on August 3, the Investigation Police Agency of the Provincial Police executed an arrest warrant to temporarily detain Le Cong Phu (born in 1981, residing in Phuoc Khanh hamlet, Phuoc Hung commune, An Phu district (now Phuoc Khanh hamlet, Nhon Hoi commune, An Giang province) to investigate the act of "Fraudulent appropriation of property".

The Investigation Police Agency of An Giang Province Police has changed the preventive measure from prohibiting the suspect from leaving his place of residence to executing an arrest warrant for temporary detention because during the investigation, the suspect Phu showed signs of fleeing his place of residence.

Previously, on March 31, 2025, the Investigation Police Agency of An Phu District Police (old) issued a decision to prosecute the case and prosecute the accused Le Cong Phu (born in 1981, residing in Phuoc Khanh Hamlet, Phuoc Hung Commune, An Phu District (now Phuoc Khanh Hamlet, Nhon Hoi Commune, An Giang Province) to investigate the act of "fraudulent appropriation of property".

According to the initial investigation results, on December 3, 2024, taking advantage of his acquaintance with Ms. HTN (born in 1975, residing in Binh Trung hamlet, Binh Phuoc Xuan commune, Cho Moi district, now Binh Trung hamlet, Cu Lao Gieng commune, An Giang province), Phu provided false information about growing mangoes to make Ms. N trust and cooperate and transfer 20 million VND to Phu's personal account. After receiving the money, Phu appropriated and used the money for personal purposes.

Currently, the authorities have completed the file and transferred it to the People's Procuracy of Region 15 to propose prosecuting the accused Le Cong Phu according to the provisions of law.
