Candidates taking the 2018 General Education Program exam will take tests in the following subjects: Foreign Language, History, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Economics and Law Education, Informatics, and Technology.
According to the examination plan of the Ministry of Education and Training , each candidate will only take 4 exams, including 2 compulsory subjects (Mathematics and Literature) and 2 elective subjects from the remaining subjects.

Based on the subjects registered for, candidates will take the exam at designated testing centers. Each elective subject has a 50-minute exam time, and the exam is in the form of objective multiple-choice questions. The 2018 general education program exam questions are also oriented by the Ministry of Education and Training according to a new structure and format, with an increased number of practical questions.
Each subject has a different number of registered candidates. Specifically:
The Physics exam had over 354,000 candidates.
The Chemistry subject had nearly 247,000 test-takers.
The Biology subject had nearly 73,000 candidates.
History was the most popular subject, with over 449,000 candidates.
Geography ranked second, after History, with over 494,000 test-takers.
The Civic Education subject has nearly 5,000 candidates.
The subject of Economics and Law Education has over 247,000 candidates.
The Computer Science subject has nearly 8,000 candidates.
The Industrial Technology subject has nearly 2,500 candidates.
The Agricultural Technology subject has nearly 22,000 candidates.
The English subject had nearly 358,000 test-takers.
Russian had the fewest candidates with only 103; followed by French with 408; and Chinese with nearly 4,400 candidates.
In addition, candidates taking the exam under the 2006 General Education Program will take the Natural Sciences combined test (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and the Social Sciences combined test (History, Geography, Civic Education).
Each exam has a time limit of 50 minutes and is in multiple-choice format.
