Weather on January 31: The North and North Central regions continue to be cold, with some places experiencing severe cold.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on the day and night of March 31, the North and North Central regions will continue to experience cold weather, with some places experiencing severe cold with temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius.

The South Central, Central Highlands and South regions have thunderstorms. Beware of the possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind during thunderstorms.

To cope with the severe cold in the above areas, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment recommends that provinces and cities in the Northern and North Central regions closely monitor warning bulletins and forecasts on cold air developments and promptly inform local authorities and people to proactively take appropriate preventive measures.

Localities have deployed plans to respond to the cold, especially strengthening guidance on ensuring the health of people and students at boarding schools, and not using coal stoves to heat closed rooms to avoid human casualties.

At the same time, propagate and guide livestock households to strengthen barns, cover and keep warm, store food; prevent and control diseases for livestock and poultry; guide measures to ensure safety for rice, vegetable and other crop production.

Regarding weather information at sea, early morning of March 31, Deputy Head of Weather Forecast Department, National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting Nguyen Huu Thanh said that in the Gulf of Tonkin there were strong northeast winds of level 6-7, gusting to level 8-9; Ly Son Island had strong winds of level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 8.

Forecast for the day and night of March 31, the North East Sea area (including the Hoang Sa sea area), the sea area from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai will have strong winds of level 6, gusts of level 7-8, rough seas, waves 2-4m high.

Gulf of Tonkin, sea area from Binh Dinh to Binh Thuan and sea area west of the central East Sea have strong winds level 5, sometimes 6, gusts level 7-8, rough seas, waves 1.5-3.5m high.

In addition, on the day and night of March 31, the area between the East Sea and the sea from Binh Dinh to Ca Mau will have showers and thunderstorms, with the possibility of tornadoes and strong gusts of wind.

Warning, on April 1, in the North East Sea area (including the Hoang Sa sea area), strong Northeast wind level 6, gusting to level 7-8; rough sea; waves 2-4m high, wind gradually decreases at night.

The risk level of natural disasters due to strong winds at sea is level 2. All vessels operating in the above areas are at high risk of being affected by tornadoes, strong winds and large waves.

- Rain, scattered showers, cold weather. North to Northwest wind level 3.

- Lowest temperature 15-18 degrees Celsius. Highest temperature 18-21 degrees Celsius.

Provinces and cities from Da Nang to Binh Thuan

- Scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places, with the possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Northeast wind level 3-4.

- Lowest temperature 21-24 degrees Celsius in the South, some places 24-26 degrees Celsius. Highest temperature in the North 25-28 degrees Celsius, in the South 28-31 degrees Celsius.

Central Highlands region

- There will be scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places, in the late afternoon and at night there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places, with the possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Northeast to East wind level 2-3.

- Lowest temperature 20-23 degrees Celsius. Highest temperature 28-31 degrees Celsius.

Southern region

- There will be scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places, in the late afternoon and at night there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, with the possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Northeast to East wind level 2-3.

- Lowest temperature 23-26 degrees Celsius. Highest temperature 31-34 degrees Celsius./.
