Prime Minister directs inspection and handling of erosion on Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway

On September 16, the Government Office issued a document conveying the Prime Minister's direction on inspecting and handling the erosion situation on the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh assigned the Minister of Construction to inspect, handle and report to the Prime Minister the implementation results before September 25, 2025.

Previously, Lam Dong Newspaper, Radio and Television reported that after a heavy rain, the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway section Km213 through Ham Liem commune had erosion spots creating frog-shaped edges. The base of the roadbed was eroded, forming gullies. Some eroded sections penetrated deep into the roadbed, forming landslides, posing a potential danger to vehicles.

Construction Investment Joint Stock Company 886 - Thanh Nam is the unit assigned to manage and maintain the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway section. Afterwards, workers were sent to the scene to temporarily reinforce the roadbed by stacking sandbags on top of each other.

Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressway is more than 100km long, passing through Lam Dong province. This expressway has a total investment of over 10,850 billion VND, opened to traffic from May 2023, is a section of the North - South expressway in the East, the route has 4 lanes, maximum speed of 90 km/h.
