The atmosphere at the training ground in Bangkok (Thailand) was urgent, energetic and full of concentration, clearly showing the determination of the U22 Vietnam team before the G hour.

In a quick interview with the press, striker Nguyen Dinh Bac, vice-captain of U22 Vietnam, said that the whole team is in good spirits and ready to aim for all 3 points. “The whole team is very excited and determined. It’s hard to say anything in advance, but we will try our best to have a good start,” the striker born in 2004 shared.

Referring to the 3-0 victory of U23 Vietnam over U23 Laos at the U23 Southeast Asia tournament in July, Dinh Bac maintained a cautious attitude: “Each tournament is a different story. The teams in the region have all improved, so tomorrow's match will certainly not be easy. We must concentrate to get the desired result.”

His impressive form at the club is also giving the young striker more confidence. The decisive goal that helped CAHN advance in the AFC Champions League Two recently was considered by Dinh Bac as a timely “mental doping dose”: “That goal gave me a lot of motivation before joining the national team. It came at the right time and helped me gain more confidence.”

Being awarded the vice-captaincy in his first SEA Games appearance, Dinh Bac could not hide his pride: “It is both a responsibility and a joy. I will try my best to contribute to the team’s victories.”

The 20-year-old striker also revealed that CAHN Club created conditions for him to join the national team earlier than expected. “I shared with coach Mano Polking that this is my first SEA Games, the fans are really looking forward to this tournament. I hope he understands and allows me to quickly integrate into the team. Luckily, everything went smoothly,” Dinh Bac said.

With high spirits and careful preparation, U22 Vietnam is aiming for a strong performance on the opening day of SEA Games 33 - where expectations are being placed on the feet of a young generation full of thirst for victory.
