The goal was not counted for Tien Linh.

According to initial statistics from the LPBank V-League 2024/25 organizing committee (VPF), Nguyen Tien Linh won the Golden Boot award along with Alan Grafite and Lucao with a total of 14 goals. After round 26 ended last week, the media unanimously reported that Nguyen Tien Linh became the first domestic player to win this individual award since 2017.

As of today, the tournament organizers announced that Nguyen Tien Linh has only scored 13 goals. According to this announcement, Tien Linh's goal in the 90+3 minute in the match between Binh Duong and Hai Phong (round 25) was determined to be an own goal by defender Bui Tien Dung. This is a rather sensitive situation. The ball from Tien Linh's shot was slowly rolling towards the corner of Hai Phong's goal but before reaching the goal line, Bui Tien Dung blocked it and changed direction and flew straight into the net.

VPF confirmed: “Striker Alan Grafite of Hanoi Police Club and Lucao of Hai Phong Club both scored 14 goals and won the title of Top Scorer of V-League 2024/25. Meanwhile, Nguyen Tien Linh won the title of Top Scorer of the domestic league with 13 goals.”

Currently, Nguyen Tien Linh has not commented on this change. The individual and collective awards of V-League 2024/25 will be announced and awarded by VPF at the V-League Awards event taking place on July 1.
