Received 153 units of blood from doctors, medical staff and people in the province

This morning, February 11th, the Provincial General Hospital organized its second blood donation drive titled "White Blouse, Pink Heart." This is one of the practical activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day on February 27th (1955 - 2025), attracting the participation of numerous doctors, medical staff from the hospital, and volunteers from many agencies, departments, and localities throughout the province.

Speaking with reporters, Dr. Bui Ngoc Hoang, Head of the Hematology and Blood Transfusion Department at the Provincial General Hospital, said that since the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake - 2025, the hospital has been facing a shortage of blood for emergency services due to a sudden surge in the number of patients.

Meanwhile, the blood supply from the Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center in the Central Region is currently not enough to meet the needs of emergency and treatment for patients at the hospital. Therefore, the Provincial General Hospital has organized humanitarian blood donation campaigns to call for the sharing of blood drops from people throughout the province.

During this second blood donation drive, the Provincial General Hospital sent out an open letter calling for the participation of all hospital staff, employees, and the public. As a result, 153 units of blood were collected.

Previously, in the first blood donation campaign on February 6, 2025, the hospital also mobilized 67 units of blood. This is a valuable amount of blood, contributing to overcoming the shortage of blood resources, promptly providing emergency care and treatment to patients. Thereby ensuring the hospital's emergency care and medical examination and treatment work achieves the highest efficiency.

In recent times, the humanitarian blood donation and emergency blood donation movement at the Provincial General Hospital has been continuously deployed, receiving the response of a large number of officials, employees and people in the area. In 2024 alone, the hospital received more than 400 units of blood from emergency blood donations mobilized and called for by the Hospital Red Cross and the Quang Tri Provincial Voluntary Blood Donation Club, contributing to bringing life to many patients in critical situations.
