
Expressing their delight at the rapid and effective development of the Vietnam-Indonesia Strategic Partnership in all fields, the two leaders agreed on major directions to continue promoting bilateral relations in the coming time, practically celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Strategic Partnership and looking forward to celebrating the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2025.
Accordingly, the two sides will promote delegation exchanges, high-level contacts and contacts at all levels, Party and State channels, people-to-people exchanges, continue to promote parliamentary cooperation channels and cooperative relations between localities of the two countries.
At the meeting, Speaker of the House of Representatives Puan Maharani warmly welcomed and highly appreciated the significance of the first official visit to Indonesia by National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, which was also the first visit to Indonesia by a Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman in 13 years.

The visit took place on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam-Indonesia Strategic Partnership (2013-2023), contributing significantly to the development of the traditional friendship and strategic partnership, including parliamentary cooperation between the two countries, in an increasingly deep and substantive manner.
The Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives affirmed that Vietnam is a strategically important partner of Indonesia in the region.
For his part, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue thanked the warm and friendly reception and respectfully conveyed to the Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives the greetings and best wishes of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Vo Van Thuong and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
The National Assembly Chairman congratulated the Indonesian House of Representatives on successfully organizing the G20 Parliamentary Forum (P20), contributing to helping Indonesia successfully fulfill its role as Chair of the G20 in 2022; and expressed his belief that Indonesia will successfully assume the role of Chair of ASEAN 2023 and Chair of AIPA 2023.
National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue emphasized: Vietnam attaches great importance to developing the strategic partnership with Indonesia with a solid foundation of traditional friendship built by President Ho Chi Minh and President Soekarno, and nurtured by generations of leaders and people of the two countries.
The two sides agreed to strive to increase two-way trade to over 15 billion USD in the coming time and towards a more balanced direction, facilitating trade, reducing trade barriers and promoting the development of new strategic supply chains, taking advantage of the potential and strengths of both sides.
National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue suggested that Indonesia open its market to Vietnamese agricultural products, especially Halal foods and fruits (such as lychees, longans, etc.), and continue to facilitate and encourage Vietnamese enterprises to operate production and business in Indonesia.
The two sides agreed to step up measures to promote and facilitate businesses of the two countries to diversify investment and business cooperation areas; share experiences in legislative work, and create a legal corridor so that the two countries can cooperate in current global fields, especially fair energy transition and safe digital transformation.
The two leaders also agreed to strengthen cooperation in other important areas, including culture, education, tourism, promote people-to-people exchanges, enhance connectivity through increasing the frequency of direct commercial flights, and hope to open a direct flight from Hanoi to Jakarta.
The two sides also agreed to strengthen maritime and fisheries cooperation and promote the resolution of issues related to IUU fishing.
Discussing regional and international issues, in the context of many complicated and unpredictable developments, the two leaders agreed to continue to strengthen consultation and close coordination between the two countries at regional and international forums.

The two sides will cooperate closely at multilateral parliamentary forums such as the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (AIPA), the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), and the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF); promote ASEAN's solidarity and central role; and support each other's stance on regional and international issues of mutual concern.
The two leaders continued to affirm the importance of peace, stability, safety, security and freedom of navigation in the East Sea; worked together to maintain ASEAN's solidarity and common stance on the East Sea issue; promoted the implementation of the DOC and closely coordinated in negotiating an effective and efficient COC in accordance with international law and the 1982 UNCLOS.
On this occasion, the National Assembly Chairman respectfully invited Speaker of the House of Representatives Puan Maharani to visit Vietnam at a suitable time. The Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives happily accepted the invitation.
The Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives said he will send a delegation to attend the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians hosted by the Vietnamese National Assembly next September.
At the end of the talks, the two leaders witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between the two legislative bodies. The two leaders of the National Assembly also co-chaired a press conference to announce the results of the talks.
