On November 2, the Southern Regional Finals of the Mathnasium Championship 2025 concluded with the selection of 6 new champions representing 6 levels of competition. The competition marked the milestone of 120 champions of Math Thinking being honored after 10 years of organization.
Launched in 2015, Mathnasium Championship is an annual academic competition for primary and secondary school students nationwide. The competition aims to inspire a love of learning Math, develop reflective thinking and problem-solving skills.

This year's season attracted more than 3,000 contestants from all 63 provinces and cities. From the online preliminary round (September 15-29), 3,227 contestants with good results were selected for the semi-finals (October 11-12). In the final round, 471 contestants were divided into two regions: Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, competing directly to determine the champion of each level.
In the Southern region alone, 289 contestants entered the competition on November 2 in Ho Chi Minh City, going through face-to-face competitions with time limits and increasing difficulty.
According to Associate Professor Dr. Le Thai Bao Thien Trung, Head of the Department of Mathematics Teaching Methods - Faculty of Mathematics and Information Technology (Ho Chi Minh City University of Education), Vice Chairman of the Competition's Professional Council - Mathnasium Championship is not an advanced Mathematics exam, but a place to test students' thinking ability, speed and flexible application of knowledge. Players must have quick reflexes, sharp reasoning and confidence when giving answers.
The organizers said the highlight of the final round was the balance between difficulty and application, encouraging students to develop their calculation and logic skills, while staying calm when handling situations.
After the competitions, the organizing committee announced 18 outstanding candidates from the Southern region, of which 6 first prize winners were recognized as 6 new champions of Mathnasium Championship 2025, bringing the total number of national champions to 120 after 10 years.
The list of champions in the Southern region includes Level 1 - Hoang Chi Phong (SBD 133), Level 2 - Pham Van Nhat Minh (SBD 223), Level 3 - Hoang Quoc Bao (SBD 308), Level 4 - Tran Ngoc Quoc Hung (SBD 414), Level 5 - Le Quang Bach (SBD 508) and Level 6 - Phu Anh Quan (SBD 640).

After 10 years, the organizing committee is proud to see thousands of students become more mature in thinking, more confident in studying and daring to conquer knowledge.
Professor Larry Martinek, founder of the Mathnasium method (USA), also sent his congratulations to the Vietnamese candidates: “Ten years is a valuable journey. I am happy to see Vietnamese students approach and develop mathematical thinking in a proactive and creative way.”
