Bodies of two missing beachgoers swept away by waves found in Dak Lak

The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department (Dak Lak Provincial Police) informed that at 6:15 a.m. on October 25, the authorities found the body of NHT (born in 2008, residing in Xuan Tho commune, Dak Lak province) who was swept away by waves while swimming with a group of friends in the sea in Xuan Dai ward (Dak Lak province).

The body of NHĐ (born in 2008, residing in Xuan Tho commune) was found at 8:30 p.m. on October 24.

Previously, at around 5pm on October 24, two students NHT and NHĐ and three other friends (all living locally) went swimming in the An Thanh neighborhood, Xuan Dai ward. At that time, the sea was rough, the waves were big, and the wind was strong, so NHT and NHĐ were swept away by the big waves and went missing.

Upon receiving the news, over 50 people from the border guards, police, local militia, and the support of local people, deployed to search along the coast and the area where the boats were anchored. This sea area has big waves and strong winds, making rescue work difficult, but the authorities still arranged people to be on duty and make efforts to search for the victims throughout the night.

Local leaders said that the sea area in Xuan Dai ward and neighboring localities still has big waves, strong winds, and rising sea levels. Therefore, people are not allowed to swim; at the same time, remind their children not to go to the beach to swim and play, to avoid unfortunate accidents.
