The Diplomatic Academy recently held a ceremony to introduce the book series "The Quintessence of Vietnamese Diplomacy: Perspectives from Ambassador, Professor, and Doctor Vu Duong Huan," which includes four of the latest works published in 2024.
With the participation of former leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and former leaders of the Diplomatic Academy, ambassadors, delegates, press representatives, and a large number of students, the event not only aimed to express gratitude for the contributions of Ambassador, Professor Vu Duong Huan to the diplomatic sector, but also to inspire research in the younger generation of the Diplomatic Academy.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Hung Son, Deputy Director of the Diplomatic Academy, said that 2023 marks the 50th anniversary of Professor Vu Duong Huan's entry into the diplomatic service.
Throughout his more than half-century career, he has held many different positions and worked in various locations, but the Diplomatic Academy is where he has been most closely associated, through research, training, and as the Academy's Director and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of International Studies.
Even after retirement, he remains actively involved in research advisory and teaching roles at the Academy.
Along with successive generations of leaders of the Diplomatic Academy, he made many important contributions to the development and prestige of the Diplomatic Academy, which the current generation of staff at the Academy is inheriting and striving to continue.

According to Dr. Nguyen Hung Son, each book, article, and scientific work by Professor Vu Duong Huan is truly a valuable source of knowledge, containing his accumulated insights, conclusions, reflections, and profound understanding of Vietnamese diplomacy and international relations throughout various historical periods.
These works contribute to enriching Vietnam's diplomatic knowledge base, serving as valuable learning and reference materials for future generations of officials and diplomacy students.
The Deputy Director of the Diplomatic Academy emphasized: “This ceremony is an opportunity for us to express our gratitude for the important contributions and tireless dedication of Ambassador, Professor, Dr. Vu Duong Huan to the development of the Diplomatic Academy and the treasure trove of knowledge on international relations and diplomacy of our country.”
This is also an opportunity to convey, in a more direct and widespread manner, the essence of Vietnamese diplomacy to readers, especially the younger generation.
I believe that the lessons and insights that Professor Huan has shared in his books will continue to inspire many generations of diplomats, students, and anyone who loves the field of diplomacy.”

At the ceremony, Ambassador, Professor Dr. Vu Duong Huan held a discussion and introduced a series of books recently published in 2024. These included: "Vietnam's Foreign Policy 1945-1975" ; "Fundamental Issues of International Relations Theory "; and "Some Issues of International Relations, Foreign Policy and Diplomacy of Vietnam" (volumes 8 and 9).
Through each book, readers have the opportunity to gain a clearer and more comprehensive understanding of Vietnam's diplomatic history and the brilliant diplomatic strategies and tactics that have helped Vietnam achieve its current strength, potential, position, and prestige.
Throughout his career, Ambassador, Professor, and Doctor Vu Duong Huan has left behind a wealth of valuable knowledge. He has led seven scientific research projects, including two state-level projects, and has published 49 books on international relations, foreign policy, and Vietnamese diplomacy.
Through his research, Ambassador, Professor, and Doctor Vu Duong Huan has contributed to portraying the identity and essence of Vietnamese diplomacy through the subtle and experienced lens of a veteran diplomat.

Despite having authored 23 books, co-authored 16, and contributed to 10 other books, and having presented 239 scientific papers and conference papers at national and international conferences, he stated that he will not stop there and will continue his research in the future.
His passion lies in systematizing, through his books, knowledge about international relations, foreign policy, and Vietnamese diplomacy throughout history, both in theory and practice.
