Egypt's Luxor Province wishes to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam

On February 25, a delegation from the Vietnamese Embassy in Egypt led by Ambassador Nguyen Huy Dung had a working session with leaders of Luxor province of Egypt and coordinated with the Luxor province Chamber of Commerce to organize a trade seminar with the theme "Vietnam-Egypt business opportunities" to further promote cooperation in the fields of economics , trade, investment, tourism, culture, agriculture and education between Vietnam and Egypt as well as between localities of the two countries.

According to the Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Egypt, at a meeting with the Governor of Luxor province, Mr. Mustafa Mohamed Alham Khaled, Ambassador Nguyen Huy Dung emphasized that Vietnam and Egypt have a traditional and friendly relationship, affirming that the cooperation between the two countries has witnessed very good developments in recent years. In particular, the two countries signed many cooperation agreements in many fields within the framework of high-level visits by the leaders of the two countries in 2017 and 2018, including the cooperation and friendship agreement between Luxor province of Egypt and Ninh Binh province of Vietnam. According to the Ambassador, Vietnam and Egypt have great potential for cooperation in areas where both sides have strengths such as agriculture , industry, textiles, logistics, seafood, tourism, marine economy, etc. The two countries are aiming to increase two-way trade turnover to 1 billion USD in the coming time. Ambassador Nguyen Huy Dung and Luxor Governor Alham Khaled agreed that Luxor and Ninh Binh provinces need to review and supplement the cooperation content in the friendship and cooperation agreement between the two localities to soon sign an extension of this document. The Ambassador suggested that Luxor province strengthen cooperation not only with Ninh Binh province but also with other localities in Vietnam. Mr. Alham Khaled expressed his hope that Luxor and Ninh Binh would supplement cooperation content in agriculture, education and tourism, and called on Vietnamese enterprises to increase investment in industrial parks in Luxor province. Ambassador Nguyen Huy Dung and Luxor provincial leaders also suggested that the two countries create conditions for travel businesses of both sides to open representative offices and promote tourism promotion activities in each other's localities.

At the trade seminar with the theme “Vietnam-Egypt Business Opportunities” held on the same day, with the participation of Chairman of the Luxor Provincial Chamber of Commerce Muhammad Yehia and representatives of many enterprises in the province, Ambassador Nguyen Huy Dung introduced the main features of the economic situation as well as investment attraction policies of Vietnam, and at the same time suggested that enterprises of the two countries strengthen connections to learn about the market as well as seek business cooperation opportunities. For his part, Chairman of the Luxor Provincial Chamber of Commerce Muhammad Yehia suggested that the two countries further promote cooperation in various fields, especially economics, trade, investment, tourism , culture and people-to-people exchange. Mr. Muhammad Yehia also expressed his hope that Vietnamese enterprises would be interested in investing in industrial zones of Luxor province. Also at the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung, First Secretary, Head of the Trade Office of the Vietnamese Embassy in Egypt, gave an overview of foreign trade activities as well as Vietnam's strong industries, and answered questions related to policy mechanisms of a number of businesses in Luxor.
