On February 17th, the People's Committee of Tan Lap Ward, Buon Ma Thuot City, Dak Lak Province, worked with the owner of a daycare center on Tran Quy Cap Street following an incident where a 9-month-old girl had bruises on her cheek, leading the family to suspect she had been beaten.

According to information from the Lao Dong newspaper , on the afternoon of February 17th, the leaders of the Buon Ma Thuot City Police, Dak Lak province, stated that the unit had conducted an investigation and obtained initial information regarding the case of a 9-month-old child, D.AD., who suffered bruises on his cheek and is currently receiving treatment at the hospital.

Earlier that morning, the city police dispatched officers to the Central Highlands Regional General Hospital to work with the child's father. In addition, authorities also questioned the owner of the daycare center on Tran Quy Cap Street (Tan Lap Ward).

"Initial verification results determined that the child's bruises on the cheek were due to a fall at the daycare center, and there was no child abuse. The child is currently being treated for an intestinal condition at the hospital," the leader of the Buon Ma Thuot City Police added.

According to the Tan Lap Ward People's Committee, the daycare center was run by a woman who rented a house and cared for several young children. This was an unlicensed daycare center, so the Ward People's Committee requested that it cease operations and complete the necessary paperwork for administrative processing.
