According to the report on the implementation of the socio-economic development plan for 2024 in Bac Giang province, the economic growth rate is the highest in the country, estimated at 13.85%.

On the morning of December 6th, information from the People's Committee of Bac Giang province indicated that, according to the report on the implementation of the socio -economic development plan for 2024, Bac Giang province has achieved many important results in various fields, with many key indicators exceeding the national average.
Bac Giang province's economic growth rate (GRDP) for the whole year is estimated at 13.85% (almost double the national average), ranking first nationwide. Fifteen out of 18 key indicators were completed or exceeded the plan, including eight indicators meeting the plan and seven exceeding the plan, while three indicators were not completed.
The quality of economic growth continued to improve, with social labor productivity increasing by 13.5%, reaching 100% of the plan. The GRDP scale continued to expand, reaching 207 trillion VND (ranking first in the Northern Midlands and Mountains region). GRDP per capita reached 4,370 USD, an increase of 10.6%, equivalent to 97.1% of the plan. The economic structure shifted in a positive direction.
Industrial production continues to be the main driving force for economic growth (contributing over 85% of the province's overall growth). The Industrial Production Index (IIP) for the whole year increased by 30.0%. The value of production reached VND 705,227 billion, exceeding the plan by 5.9%. The industrial structure shifted in the right direction, with the processing and manufacturing industry playing a leading role (accounting for 98.5% of the province's total industrial production value).
Total state budget revenue achieved outstanding results, estimated at over 19,130 billion VND for the whole year, exceeding the central government's target by 22.2%. Fifteen out of sixteen domestic revenue items exceeded the target, with revenue from foreign-invested enterprises reaching over 2,915 billion VND, exceeding the target by 32.9%; nine out of ten districts and cities exceeded their annual targets.
The management of public investment capital plans has been carried out seriously and decisively; investment efficiency has been improved. The total disbursement value for the year is estimated at over 9,180 billion VND, equivalent to 97.8% of the plan.
Efforts to improve the investment and business environment have been prioritized, with the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) in 2023 ranking 4th out of 63 provinces and cities. Investment attraction has yielded positive results. To date, Bac Giang province has attracted over US$2.04 billion in converted investment capital, equivalent to 75% of the same period last year. Specifically in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI), Bac Giang ranks 9th out of 63 provinces and cities.
Infrastructure development continues to be a priority and has yielded many positive results. The transportation network continues to be heavily invested in and developed in a synchronized and modern manner, increasing connectivity and development linkages, and seven key transportation projects have been completed.

Investment in infrastructure development for industrial parks and clusters has received special attention. During the year, the Prime Minister approved the investment in 3 new industrial parks and the expansion of 2 existing ones, bringing the total number of industrial parks to 11, covering an area of 2,720.72 hectares.
The quality of education and healthcare is maintained, especially in advanced education with many high achievements in national and international student competitions; social welfare is ensured, especially with the completion of the "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses" program as planned…
The reorganization of administrative units has been implemented decisively and effectively, receiving the consensus of the people. Inspection, supervision, citizen reception, and the resolution of complaints and denunciations have been given priority. Political security and social order are ensured; the movement of "All People Protecting National Security" has seen many positive changes.
Highest level of determination
However, according to the People's Committee of Bac Giang province, there are still some shortcomings, limitations, difficulties, and challenges in the implementation process. In particular, the economic growth rate did not meet the set target. Although the economy experienced high growth, it was not sustainable.
Industrial production faces many difficulties and challenges. Public investment is slow in all stages and processes of implementation, and disbursement is facing many difficulties that are slow to be resolved.
Agricultural production suffered serious and severe damage, reducing the output of agricultural products as well as farmers' income and the industry's growth target for 2024. The arrangement and handling of surplus public assets in most units and localities is still slow. The progress of investment in the construction of centralized waste treatment plants is very slow.
For the remainder of 2024, Bac Giang province will continue to focus on leading and directing the acceleration of task implementation, determined to strive for the highest possible achievement of the targets and tasks set for 2024. Based on the resolutions, programs, and plans for 2025 approved by the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, and the Provincial People's Committee of Bac Giang, the province will promptly develop and issue resolutions, programs, and plans of sectors and localities to concretize implementation, ensuring they are closely aligned with the requirements and practical situation, with the highest determination, aiming for results in the following year to be equal to or higher than the previous year.
