At exactly 7:05 a.m. on October 28 local time (2:05 p.m. Hanoi time), General Secretary To Lam and his wife Ngo Phuong Ly, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, arrived at London Stansted Airport, London, to begin an official visit to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland at the invitation of Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Keir Starmer, from October 28-30.
Welcoming General Secretary To Lam and his wife and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation at the airport on the side of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland were Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Seema Malhotra; Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Vietnam Iran Frew; and representative of the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Stephan Walton.
On the Vietnamese side, there were: Vietnamese Ambassador to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Do Minh Hung and his wife; officers and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Vietnamese Ambassador to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Do Minh Hung and representative of the Protocol Department of the British Foreign Office Stephan Walton boarded the plane to welcome General Secretary To Lam and his wife and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation on an official visit to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
General Secretary To Lam and his wife got off the plane and shook hands with officials and cadres from both sides, amid the joyful welcome of officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
The official visit of General Secretary To Lam and his wife along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation this time took place on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam-United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Strategic Partnership (2010-2025), an important milestone for the two countries to look back on the past cooperation journey, evaluate outstanding achievements, and at the same time set out a new vision and development orientation for bilateral relations in the coming period.
The visit of General Secretary To Lam is expected to create new breakthroughs in cooperation between the two countries, especially in areas with potential and complementary strengths, thereby contributing to the effective implementation of the Politburo's key resolutions on science-technology development and innovation, promoting deep and comprehensive international integration, perfecting institutions, developing the private economic sector, promoting education and training, caring for and improving people's health, ensuring national energy security, in line with Vietnam's vision of sustainable development and long-term strategy, towards a new era of dynamic and creative development./.
