General Department of Logistics and Engineering inspected at the Military Command of An Giang province

On August 1, a working delegation from the General Department of Logistics and Engineering led by Colonel Le Manh Cuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Armaments, inspected the work of ensuring safety, preventing and fighting fires and explosions, and combat plans to protect the arsenal of weapons, ammunition, gasoline, and oil at the Military Command of An Giang province.

According to the An Giang Provincial Military Command, over the past time, the warehouses under its management have always ensured safety. The unit was assigned to carry out the 50 Campaign of the Ministry of National Defense in 2024, creating conditions for synchronous implementation of the project of renovating and upgrading the warehouse system and purchasing equipment.

Training, drills, and exercises on fire prevention and fighting and warehouse protection were carried out seriously, including 4 inter-sectoral drills with the coordination of the police, militia, and local authorities. 100% of basic fire prevention and fighting equipment met inspection standards; vehicles transporting gasoline, weapons, and ammunition were regularly maintained to ensure safety during use.

The working group inspected the actual fire prevention and fighting documents; organization, quantity and quality of weapons and equipment; weapons - ammunition, gasoline and oil storage system; maintenance of regular order in the logistics and engineering sector; work to ensure safety in fire prevention and fighting, lightning protection; and specific handling of a situation in fire prevention and fighting.

Colonel Le Manh Cuong acknowledged and commended the results achieved by the An Giang Provincial Military Command and suggested that in the coming time, commanders of agencies and units regularly maintain fire prevention and fighting drills and protection plans; improve the incident handling capacity of the grassroots fire prevention and fighting force, ensuring closeness to the characteristics of the terrain of rivers, seas and islands; coordinate work with the police and localities, in order to promptly and effectively respond to any arising situations...
